Advice:
Be VERY careful with your things. There are thieves in tournaments. Keep a backpack with you, never have too many different items out at once, watch who looks at your binder, and keep everything else in your backpack while you are playing.

Thanks bro, I already had a few good cards for DW from a while ago like Skill drain, body as a shield and Trap Dustshoot.
Just gonna grab the rest off troll n toad. Just kinda worried since the decks getting old its not good for this format anymore.
Any advice for locals etiquette or what i should expect?

you will be an outside for a bit there most likely but just be friendly and try to have to fun and you will meet the people that are there for that as well.
You unfortunatly will run into a few douchebags along the way. those people i make my targets to make as mad as possible when i beat them and be a good loser as well.

Be friendly and get to know the people. Offer discounts on your cards and try to suck up to as many people as you can.
Once you are known enough in your locals then you can set up card reservations, discounted card prices or even get people to find the cards that you need which makes deck building a whole lot easier.

Plan carefully regarding what clothing you bring. Locals are generally sweltering.

Bumping my thread since I have a deck now and can actually duel tomorrow.
What supplies should I bring?
I got my trade binder, deck in sleeves and deck box, spare sleeves, a calculator, and a nice small bag to keep it all in.

That's all you should bring. Maybe food too, and a die.

Be nice to bring a die and pen and paper to write on. Even with calculators it is always good to at least have a back up in case something happens. Not all locals provide writing material.
