Today's Weather, Extensively Cloudy!- Cloudian Article
*A note before we begin*
This acrtule not compete yet, as tests have keeped me from doing so (and mw3)but i thought i might as well upload it anyway just because. But it should be done by Friday at most Done!
Also this is my 1st time writing an acrtule so be nice plz.
Aaaah, Cloudians one of my fav forgoten types. The Cloudians are a strange bunch of monster split into three diffent types: One being a WATER Attributed Fairys, one other being WIND attirbuted Aquas and the last few being Fiends. A lot of Cloudian also cant be destoryed by battle as long as there in attack possion with is both their stong point and weakness. But where this exsel at it spraying Fog conters on monsters and using them to gain there effects so there can be a lot indenth strategy that can go into these lost beauties. For now im going to focus this acrtule on the use of the fog counters.
The Main Clouds
The Cold Support
Cloud deck
Conclusion
Cloudians play a very "passive:aggressive" style of play and do take time to master due to this. But learning when to attack is key to these cards. Attack too soon youll be beaten down and attacking too late will lay your end with there trap cards. However, with good patient and careful plays,
Cloudians...
Will blow your opponent away.

The Main Clouds
- Spoiler:
Acid Cloud
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. When you Normal Summon this card, place 1 Fog Counter on it for each "Cloudian" monster on the field. You can remove 2 Fog Counters from this card to destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card.
This card not really worth running as a MST is much more forgiving and can do this for you without the use of the old fog counters.
Run 0-2
Cloudian - Altus
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. When you Normal Summon this card, place 1 Fog Counter on it for each "Cloudian" monster on the field. You can remove 3 Fog Counters from anywhere on the field to discard 1 random card from your opponent's hand.
Helpful getting conters off the oppents side of the feild and annoying them with but do be warned not to use when they are using Dark Worlds or Fabled.
Run 1-2
Cloudian - Cirrostratus
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. When you Normal Summon this card, place 1 Fog Counter on it for each "Cloudian" monster on the field. You can remove 2 Fog Counters from this card to destroy 1 monster on the field.
This card can be a big help taking out some of the oppent monsters, with some cloudian lack badly in doing so.
Run 1-3
Cloudian - Turbulence
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. When you Normal Summon this card, place 1 Fog Counter on it for each "Cloudian" monster on the field. You can remove 1 Fog Counter from this card to Special Summon 1 "Cloudian - Smoke Ball" from your Deck or from either player's Graveyard.
Im kind of mixed opions about this one, while it can help out by bring out food for the more powerful clouds or a rank 1 XYZ, I find it hard to make it work well as it takes up far to much space and the Smoke Ball isnt powerful and has no effect anyway.
Id run 0, but if your planing on using then run 2 Turbulence and 3 Smoke Ball.
This card cannot be Special Summoned. All Battle Damage to either player from a battle involving this monster becomes 0. If this card is destroyed by battle, distribute new Fog Counters equal to the Level of the monster that destroyed it among face-up monsters.
Ere's an nice card for spraying tokens everywere, but that all it will do. Dose make a lot of conters for good old Nimbusman tho.
Run 1-3
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing from play 1 "Cloudian" monster from your Graveyard. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. Once per turn, you can place 1 Fog Counter on 1 monster on the field.
Storm Dragon will not dissapoint along side Nimbusman and other Cloudian monsters. Nuff said.
Run 2-3
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 2 "Cloudian Tokens" (Fairy-Type/WATER/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position. These tokens cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon, unless it is for a "Cloudian" monster.
Meh Sheepy not to bad, he helps to stall and bring out more higher leveled clouds too. Not too bad but not too awful eder.
Run 1-2
Cloudian - Nimbusman
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. You can Tribute any number of WATER monsters for the Tribute Summon of this card. When this card is Tribute Summoned, place 1 Fog Counter on it for each WATER monster you Tributed. This card gains 500 ATK for each Fog Counter on the field.
The beefstick of the cloudian monsters, able to abuse the spaming nature of the fog counters and use them againest your oppent. This card is more suited to a mid-late game play when plenty of counters are on the feild plus as a bonus he cant be destoryed by battle.
Run 2-3
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in face-up Defense Position, destroy it. When this card declares an attack, change the battle positions of all face-up monsters, except "Cloudian" monsters.
An other beefstick of the cloudain monsters. He has a huge 3000 attack witch is more than enough to beat most monsters in a fistfight but his effect can be help but can also make it hard to deal damage to your oppent due to the consent position changing.
Run 1 at most.
Inflict 500 damage to your opponent each time a card(s) they control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by the effect of a "Cloudian" monster.
Not a bad card for adding insult to injury (literary) if your running Acid Cloud or Cirrostratus, otherwise its rendered useless.
run 2 if your using Acid Cloud, Cirrostratus or Attus. Otherwise none.
Activate only when a "Cloudian" monster(s) you control is destroyed by its own effect and sent to the Graveyard. Special Summon 1 of those monsters from your Graveyard in Attack Position and place 1 Fog Counter on it. It cannot be changed to Defense Position by a card effect.
Not a bad card, but not really helpful in most cases as most deck ran do not change the possain of your monsters.
Rain Storm
Select 1 "Cloudian" monster you control. Reduce that monster's ATK by 1000 or 2000 and apply the appropriate effect: ● 1000 points: Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls. ● 2000 points: Destroy 2 cards your opponent controls.
Useless given the fact that most cloudians have at most 1000 attack.
Run 0-1
Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you don't control any monsters, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Cloudian" monster from your hand or from either player's Graveyard. If you Special Summon a monster from the Graveyard with this effect, destroy this card.
A good choice if your not using Water Hazard and can also recour clouds from the grave.
Run 1-2
Cloudian Squall
During each of your Standby Phases, place 1 Fog Counter on every face-up monster.
This card is perfect, counter food for almost all clouds.
The Cold Support
- Spoiler:
Sancuary in the Sky and Sprit Barrier
These will protect your life points more than any other card can as cloudians do leave themself wide open to attacks due to their effects.
Athena
This card slots perfectly with cloudians as it can revive Nimbusman amd other more powerful clouds.
The Heralds
The Heralds will keep you safe from your oppents nasty cards however would choose Green Heralds (incase they try to desory Sanctuary in the Sky or Cloud Squall) and Purple Herald (incase of those annoying trap cards)
Tethys, Goddness of Light
If it draw power you need with fairys, then look no father then Tethys.
Zeradias, Herald of Heaven
You can discard this card to the Graveyard to add 1 "The Sanctuary in the Sky" from your Deck to your hand. If "The Sanctuary in the Sky" is not face-up on the field, destroy this card.
While not running Terraform, you want to conder Zeradias.A Good lvl 4 beatstick, fills grave and give you a feild card. How nice of him!
Moray of Greed
Bit of an ovious one but still worth siding at least as most cloudians are WATER anyway ands adds some draw power.
Cloud deck
- Spoiler:
2x Archlord Kristya
3x Cloudian - Acid Cloud
2x Cloudian - Altus
3x Cloudian - ciroostratus
2x Cloudian - Nimbusman
2x Cloudian - Storm Dragon
2x Herald of Orange light
3x Zeradias, Herals of Heaven
1x Tethys, Goddess of Light
2x Cloudian Squall
2x Gold Sarcophagus
2x Pot of Duality
3x Sanctuary in the Sky
1x Wave cannon
2x Dark bribe
3x Natural Disaster
2x Spirit Barrier
1x Updraft
2x Ultimate Offering
Conclusion
Cloudians play a very "passive:aggressive" style of play and do take time to master due to this. But learning when to attack is key to these cards. Attack too soon youll be beaten down and attacking too late will lay your end with there trap cards. However, with good patient and careful plays,

Not bad so far, but I think you should say how many of each cloudian should be run. Also, I don't know if you're planning on doing this, but you could write a couple of strategies down, just to get people started when they make the deck. Maybe a basic skeleton deck could be added as well.

Re: Today's Weather, Extensively Cloudy!- Cloudian Article
Extremely iffy on the basic deck concept you posted. Dead draws are very likely, too many tribute monsters without a good line of tributes (Sheep, Storm, and Acid. I'm assuming you want the heralds to stay in hand no?). I also don't think this article gives people enough of an idea of HOW they want to play Cloudians. Personal success for me came from using Cirro and Acid to control my opponent's field presence while relying on Cloudian's innate ability to stall given the correct support. I mixed them with a handful of splashables, general fairies, and counter fairies for best results. Other ways you can run them are in the attempts of creating a burn deck with Natural Disaster(s) and Athena(s). Orange Herald is probably the one worth promoting the most, being the more useful of the 3, since S/Ts can be handled in many other, more suitable ways. Divine Punishment is also not a bad choice, considering Sanctuary is almost guaranteed to be ran in 3s in the deck.
Having said all that, nice to see someone making a thread on these even after their synchro arc died out. A great casual deck to show the people.
One last note: We need to get some grammar nazis up in this thread. The op could use a little more clarity.

Don't forget the Meklords. They are a great way to splash in random beatsticks into the mix.

That's true, very true. I tried making Clouds today (burn). I've lost my touch. Had a really tough time getting in everything needed at a cap of 40. I shall continue to try and share anything I learn to help this thread.

Muuuuuch better. Though I'd still recommend making room for a third Storm Dragon. He's better for counters than Squall with Heavy Storm and 3 MSTs running about.

I see you forgot cloudian-poison cloud (not that you'd actually run it in a cloudian deck but it has a pretty nice effect) and lucky cloud (in combination with sheep can work but is basically dead draw at most)

Re: Today's Weather, Extensively Cloudy!- Cloudian Article
I purposely left out Poison Cloud out as his effect didn't really fit in to the cloudians at all. And I forgot about Lucky Cloud will add.
