March 2012 Predictions/Thoughts

There are several things that I believe should be changed about the list for the new format:

FORBIDDEN

-Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
Too overpowered, even at one, I would actually prefer Chaos Emperor Dragon, so we don't have up to 4 Chaos Sorcerers, and no Beckoning Light OTKs with JD and BLS.

-Trap Dustshoot
Seeing too much play, and is too good with Mind Crush.

-Dark Armed Dragon
It's been around for too long, and it's surprisingly easy to summon, with a destructive effect and high attack power.

-Sangan
I'd only expect to see this gone if they brought back Witch of the Black Forest. Plus, it's also Tour Guide fodder.

Limited

-Raigeki
I don't want this card back, but the new reprint in May could be a hint to what's to come. Maybe not March 2012, but September 2012.

-Royal Oppression
Needs to come back to slow down current meta such as Synchrocentric, Chaos, and Dark World.

-Solemn Warning
With Oppression at one, Warning gives the format too much summon killing at two.

-Thunder King Rai-Oh
The ultimate in Anti-Meta, needs to be set back

-Effect Veiler
Veiler is too good of a play-stopper. Although, I'd be happy to see it at 2.

-Evolzar Laggia
It's a Solemn Judgment without the LP cost.

-Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World
Abuse of it's effect is too rampant with DW decks, and DW have been around long enough. I would say Snoww would get hit too, but that would kill the deck, and DW aren't too overpowered.

-Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity
Too good with the Hunter/Xyz loops, and overall an excellent searcher for Wind-Ups.

-Master Hyperion
Agents are still too powerful with the format, and their boss card is icing on the cake.

-Caius the Shadow Monarch
An awesome card, but too powerful at 3.

-Witch of the Black Forest
I expect to see this card make a comeback, especially with DAD gone, so it's not as overpowered.

Semi-Limited

-Pot of Duality
It makes a lot of decks faster, and when it's drawn first-turn, you can get the cards you need before making any big plays.

-Spirit Reaper
I know nobody runs it at three, but it's still too good to be at two.

-Rescue Rabbit
I want it at one, but I doubt Konami would put it that low.


Personally, I'd love to see cards like Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide get hit, but being TCG exclusive, I don't see this happening until September 2012 or even March 2013.
