A complaint from a Admin.

Hello everyone, and I'll make this short and quick.

Its come to my attention that in the recent days, it appears that less and less admins are going online, not to mention that I find myself often being one of two, three, for, or five admins. I think this is really unfair, so I think we should either hire more admins, or set up one of the following things:

A filter for curse words in chat
A way for admins to look at hands, I don't see why we wouldn't have this
and finally, a way for us to view chatlogs. I personally think this is the most urgent thing we need to address, so many more conflicts wouldn't happen if this was the case.

I agree about the chatlog the most, it makes things sooooo much easier.

I hope a filter doesn't get implemented. My friends and I often have friendly convos with words that'd likely be added to a filter if one exists. If it does get made though it's not like it'd harm anything really though.

As for the other things I believe I remember seeing one of the admins saying those features were in the works and I agree they could be really useful.

If anything I'd say remove the A.S.S button or put some kind of limit on it. Say a user can only use it like 5x in a month. Seriously I've never once seen it used rightfully.

My Internet connection in my college dorm is awful. It disconnects like every 30 seconds. I lost so many pms last night it was getting annoying.

Judges arent there to check for mind crush. This has been confirmed by konami.

These are on the wiki, and i, as a player use these rulings whether i Mind Crush or i get Mind Crushed.

It's not the judge's job to do xxx for this player, it's not a judge's job do to xxx for that player.

It is a judge's job to resolve a situation which 2 players are stuck on so the game can continue. They're not there to verify your hands, your decks, or your face-downs.

Again, that's not what judges are for.
If judges does do that at YCS, he doesn't deserve the position.

What's great about mind crush is that you can check your opponent's hand. This is why this card is so broken. You don't need a judge to do checking for you when you are allowed to do it yourself.

The big question is, did Konami intend Mind Crush to be used as a way of getting to look at your opponent's hand, or not? Obviously, you WOULD need a judge if the intention is simply to verify that your opponent does not have any more copies, rather than also using it to see what your opponent's hand is. The judge can verify the ruling without giving any further information to your opponent about what is in your hand, but if the opponent verifies your hand, they'll almost certainly want to use Mind Crush as a way of seeing your hand. The way it works, even in the DS games, is that you get to see your opponent's hand (not just a quick reveal) anyway.

It wasn't a mistake lol. It's a rule not many people are aware of so I'm actually glad you brought it to light. Perhaps people can use this thread as future reference if an issue happens regarding mind crush.

People already knows that you have to reveal your hand, just majority doesn't know that judges are not meant for this type of things.

So, if my opp refuse to show hand after I use mind crush... I cann't call mods ?

Yes, you can call the mods or you could just show them this thread since valid administrators like myself and the detonator have clarified that checking your opponent's hand is allowed when using mind crush.

You got it all wrong, kangtuji. They mean judges in real life, not on DN. Also, what DJD, The Detonator and Key said is that the hand must be shown for Mind Crush when they could have more copies of that card, and a Judge can't and shouldn't be called to check the cards in the hand instead. However, a player can and should call a Judge (RL and DN) if the opponent refuses to do show his hand when he must.

As for the opening post:

- We are in the process of hiring new admins who are qualified to help in DN.
- Admins won't have a way to check the hands; the player must show it.
- The A.S.S. button removal and replacement is being worked on.
- The chat logs for Admins are being worked on, but that's somewhat complex to do due to the stress it'd cause on the server.
- No swear filters will be implemented for now.


With those points addressed, the purpose of this topic is fulfilled, and it will be closed to avoid more off-topic posts.
