Posting Here
This is the section to post your Yu-Gi-Oh ruling related questions. Post here strictly if you have a card ruling you wish to discuss or to get clarification on a card ruling you are unsure about it.
Members are free to answer and contribute to the questions posted here but I advise that all members posting new threads on a question wait until an experienced member gives a final verdict if there is a strong debate on either side. I also advise that Moderators do not lock topics until a final justified answer has been given to any questions asked here.
Please note and remember that DuelingNetwork supports the TCG format and rulings. We are aware that some OCG exclusive cards and not yet released/legal TCG/OCG cards may be on the DuelNetwork database but are free to be used by registered members. In regard to Priority rulings we are using the TCG unchanged rulings in DuelNetwork. Questions in regard to OCG rulings or OCG cards are still welcome here but may not always apply to TCG format.

Read This Before Asking A Question.
I've seen some questions that, frankly, shouldn't be asked.
I'm going to post a link to the rulebook, and a link to Konami's ruling files.
If someone is confused about something in the rulebook, that's fine; but it is nonsensical for us to not ask people to review the rulebook - yes, the whole bloody thing - before asking a question.
The same goes for specific card rulings.
We people on the staff are not your servants; we are your friends.
This means we can ask you to pick up a slight bit of the slack, and ask you to help us help you. You can help us help you by reading the documents and then asking your question.
And when you ask your question, if you think it works a certain way, TELL us so, and use the rulebook and documents to add citations to your argument.
This will allow us to issue clear, clean, precise, nearly surgical replies to your case - quickly, efficiently, and in all the right ways.
You'll need to be able to read PDF files to read the documents and the rulebook. Plugins for major internet browsers are available through those browsers' own add-on communities.
Here's the Rulebook. Learn it. Know it. Follow it.
Here's the location of several ruling documents.
When either of those links don't work, let a moderator know, so that they can replace the link.

Some rules for the Rulings Section
Things to do before making a topic:
1. Check the wikia ruling sections for the cards involved in the issue
2. Read the Yu-Gi-Oh! Rulebook, or at least be familiar with it
http://forum.duelingnetwork.com/t405-read-this-before-asking-a-question
3. Google/search the forum for an answer to your particular problem
Search in the manner described in naming of topic "card vs.. card" because most if not all ruling conflicts stem from specific card interactions
New Topics:
If you see a topic made about a card, that is not particular with your problem make a new topic, while you may feel like this is "spamming the forum with topics" or something similar to that, you are simply mistaken. Making new topics when former topics do not pertain to that specific issue is good for forum organization and keeping topics on well…topic, which makes the forum both easier to read and navigate, but more appealing to new members to view.
So to recap that if the topic isn't pertaining to the issue or cards you’re dealing with make a new topic, it’s not a problem, it’s encouraged
Naming:
Clear and descriptive names are important, they give users a specific idea of what is going on in that thread if they are looking for an answer themselves, so rather than making a topic pertaining to say, Catastor vs. Evolzar Dolkka making a topic entitled catastor, or Dolkka depending on which card belonged to you in the conflict, make the topic title Catastor vs. Dolkka, then it is clear to people who want to help what they are getting into and people who are looking for help themselves, don't have to page through topics entitled simply Catastor, and hoping for the right topic, you will know for certain your going to get what you want.
Topic Edit:
When answering a question be as clear as possible, any answer is a useful response for the first response to the topic. Moving on to the second response and moving forward, it is important to not repeat what previous answers are. This makes it harder to navigate the topic, and it is a much more dull view of the forum when 5 replies with a half hour between them is, in my opinion, straight spam, and shameless post count boosting. I can name 3 reasons to post past the first reply:
1. The first reply was incorrect; then naturally, correct them in a reply
2. The initial reply was worded in a poorly constructed manner, in which case, quote and rephrase
3. You’re a DN Admin/DN Judge to confirm and mark as solved
All of these apply with all subsequent posts, if someone says YOUR ANSWER in a previous post, its been said don't bother saying it again, it just makes everything more confusing, the only acceptable reason for re-saying a ruling answer is if someone refuted your answer, in which case, providing proof or further explanation is encouraged to help lead the topic to its natural end
Replying:
When replying, a simple short answer, while it is always nice to see, is not always the best course of action. With a ruling question it is best to provide an explanation or proof from a reputable source as to why the answer is as such. This helps to provide the original poster with a clear reason why things work to make it easier for them to explain later.
