Gold Rat Turbo. Making the unplayable possible.
Now many people overlook Gold Rat at first making comments about how 3 level 1s is hard to do or that the effect is weak but Gold Rat, and the entire Rat archetype have suddenly become a viable option to use today, maybe not at a YCS tournament but for a nice local tournament. What makes this possible? The two cards that are defining this format. Rescue Rabbit and Tour Guide from the Underworld. A combination of these two monsters makes normal monsters easy to pull out of the deck and believe it or not, Rats have amazing synergy with these cards as you will soon find out. Before we can go on I must mention in passing Tri-Wight Zone which as made Gold Rat possible as you will soon find out.
Now, onto the main monsters of the archtype. Rats have first their very own recruiter, the well known Giant Rat. This card is way too slow for the deck. Your goal for this deck should be to spam monsters with Rabbit and TGU so really wasting deckspace on a monster Rabbit can't search that will never be useful is silly. Another bad Rat is Wind-Up Rat which has 0 synergy so I wont even talk about it.
Next is a card any Gold Rat build should max out on. Volcanic Rat. This is a vanilla and so it is searchable via Rescue Rabbit but you will rarely being doing anything with VR right when you summon it unless you pull off some interesting combo using a Leviair from the previous turn to get the Rabbit then normal summon the third Rat to make your Gold Rat. This is possible but normally you will be using the Rabbit this turn to thin your deck sending double V-Rat to the Graveyard setting up a Tri-Wight play.
Moving upwards in terms of levels you now have the Armored Rat which is the level three of the deck. This card effectively turns your Rescue Rabbit into a level 3 exceed monster. This can be immensely useful for making a Leviair which next turn will revive the Rabbit or simply into something like Zenmaines which can be great for defensive or offensive plays. Another amazing card to max out.
The final rat I suggest you play is Prevent Rat. At 2000 defence, this is a good card to choose to play first turn because something like TKRO cannot run over it. It also has synergy with Rabbit because of course you can use Rabbit to grab 2 of them opening a number of exceed options for you. The first is the Daigusto Emeral which will allow you to revive a normal Rat from your graveyard, or restock your deck for more Rabbit plays. It also opens the door to a Lavalval chain play which would let you stack your deck with a TGU or Rabbit on top or it would let you dump a Volcanic Rat to the graveyard setting up a Tri-Wight Zone play.
Then there is your boss in a way, Number 56: Gold Rat. Now this is a very interesting creature. The first thing to observe here is that Gold Rat can easily be summoned in this deck. That means I don't want to hear any of that discussion here. Now look at this effect. He basically let's you take a dead card in hand and replace it. Think of the options this allows. You can take a dead normal monster and place it back in your deck meaning you can use Rabbit on it. Gold Rat can recycle basically any other card you don't want at the time making it so useful.
Other useful cards that must be mentioned if only in passing include Tri-Wight Zone, Rescue Rabbit, Tour Guide from the Underworld, Lavalval Chain, Daigusto Emeral, Gold Sarcophagus, Leviair and Mira the Giant Star.
Tri-Wight Zone will be the main source of making Gold Rat in the deck and it will allow you to make more than 1 a game. Incredibly handy and shouldn't be dead in hand for long. New to PHSW, this card definitely has made the deck playable.
Rescue Rabbit as you know has defined the more recent portion to this format with tons of Dino-Rabbit topping at high level tournaments. Since most monsters in the deck are normal this will act as a toolbox type thing giving you access to a wide variety of monsters.
Going hand in hand with that Rabbit, there is the even more format defining card we all know as Tour Guide from the Underworld. Tour Guide allows you to reuse Rabbit by making Levair, it let's you get Sangan to the field fast which you could leave there to gain a search and it could enable stall by making Zenmaines.
Lavalval Chain is probably a card you all know very well. It will allow you to either stack your deck to draw into a Rabbit or TGU or alternatively could be used to dump a Volcanic Rat to the graveyard to avoid a dead draw. A very versatile card and not hard to bring out with Prevent Rat.
The counterpart to Lavalval Chain is Daigusto Emeral. This card is another Rank 4 staple and with that rank means that you can access it with Prevent Rat again. It's effect is even more helpful in the deck. It will either return 3 monsters from your graveyard to your deck while giving you a draw or it will SS a normal monster from your graveyard. Both of these plays set you up for even more plays so it's basically amazing.
Gold Sarcophagus is very good this format when combined with TGU. It allows you to instantly get any level 4 or lower monster onto your field. Another thing to do with it in this deck is to get ready for a Gold Rat by sending away a Tri-Wight Zone. A very neet card in the deck but no needed.
Leviair the Sea Dragon is amazing here also. You can make it with either Rabbit searching Armored Rats/Burglar or with TGU and it will let you make more and more Rabbit plays. Simply fantastic right now. I would say that this is the most important card for your extra deck other than Gold Rat of course.
Finally there is Mira the Giant Star as an interesting little tech. This would be an alternative to summoning Gold Rat and it is effectively a Gachi Gachi but rank 1 with 3 materials. Sadly it has no ATK increase effect. One thing it could do is that while it is face-up, your level 4 and under monsters are safe from card effect destruction thereby protecting your rats from the nasty side effect of Rescue Rabbit.
As a final though you may wish to protect your Gold Rat when you get it out and one potential method of doing it would be to run Honest, but I don't see that as a smart plan. Other options would be to run either Threatening Roar or Waboku but even those would be likely to lower the consistency of the deck.
I hope you like this.

Re: Gold Rat Turbo. Making the unplayable possible.
I think there are better decks that can pull off gold rat, though I assume you're playing it here because there just happens to be a lot of cards with the name rat in it so its cool

D-Boyz makes Gold Rat better. The point of this is that you can now run Rat.dek
