Release Restraint Wave

target 1 equip card I control and destroy it and all set S/T my opponent controls. That's what the card does. I used to run this card in my unique inzektor build to both clear out pesky things like solemns and drop an equip card for trigger eff.

The question comes here. Can my opponent chain continuous traps so that they avoid destruction? Most notably stuff like fiendish chain. The way it plays out in my head is Fiendish chains would remain unaffected since they are no longer set when my card resolves. But iv'e been wrong before and i'd like to be 100% sure.
