Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
My opponent has a Field Spell, I control "Malefic Stardust Dragon". I activate a new Field Spell to bump their old one. They chain "Magic Jammer"/"Solemn Judgment"/etc. to negate and destroy it. Stardust's continuous effect prevents Field Spells from being destroyed by card effects, will it work against activation-negators?
In fact, is this exactly the same principle as Sangan vs. Horn of Heaven?

And "Malefic Stardust Dragon" is a continuous effect that doesn't use the chain. Spell Speed is irrelevant.

Re: Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
if it was the activation that got negated, the protection effect isn't applied.
a bit like monster negation, though I wouldn't recommend comparing monster and s/t mechanic.

Re: Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
The field card will be sent to grave (not destroyed), because its activation is not success.

As was similarly explained elsewhere,
S/T cards that are negated but cannot be destroyed are merely sent to the grave rather than destroyed.

LaDD vs Field spells.
However, isn't Malefic destroyed before the second Field even leaves the hand? (because you destroy your field to be able to play another one)

Magic Jammer text:
"Discard 1 card; Negate the activation of a Spell and DESTROY it."
It specifically says it destroys the negated card, which is why the effect of "Geartown" still activates in the Graveyard. This is not the same as LADD.

Re: Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
can you even activate a different feild spell when malefic stardust is on the feild? because you have to destroy the old one, or itll destroy your ops when activation finishes, wouldnt malefic stardust protect the one thats already there

Re: Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
the old one will be destroyed by game mechanic rather than a card effect.
malefic stardust won't do anything about it.

Ah, sorry. I was assuming the field spells were both your own.
Then yes, this is simply a Spell Speed 3 LaDD.

Not quite. As I said above, and as was said in the LADD thread, cards like "Magic Jammer" specifically say they destroy a card. It will be destroyed by the effect, not float off to the Graveyard because the game mechanics don't like negated cards.

Re: Malefic Stardust vs. Magic Jammer
Malefic Stardust says face-up Field Spells can't be destroyed. My bad, I assumed, going by the previous post, it just said "field spells"
Regardless, as is the same with Solemn Warning vs Metaion, that even if you consider them NOT to be destroyed (as they both ARE) the result will be the same.

Yes, you can do that and Malefic Stardust won't do anything about it (it's not an effect that attempts to destroy it). Also, as far as I know, you cannot replace your own field spell card without your Malefic getting destroyed. You can replace your opponent's field spell though and keep your Malefic on the field.
As for the original question, Malefic Stardust won't negate Magic Jammer (or Solemn Jugment for that matter), the field spell you're trying to activate will be negated and sent to the graveyard and your opponent's field spell card will remain on the field intact. But if your opponent chained MST instead, your field spell would stay on the field and your opponent's would still be destroyed.
