Blackwing - Jin the Rain Shadow vs Facedown

Looking at this and looking at A.O.J Casator and how that's effect works, I wasn't sure whether Jin's worked in the same way or not, so basically does Jin work against facedown or not?

Jin's effect:

If this card battles with a monster whose DEF is lower than this card's ATK, destroy that monster immediately with this card's effect (without applying damage calculation).

Casator:

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card battles a non-DARK monster, destroy that monster without applying damage calculation.

Casator's ruling I could find:
The effect or [sic] “Ally of Justice Catastor” activates at the very start of the Damage Step before face-down monsters are flipped face-up.[1]

If “Ally of Justice Catastor” or the opponent’s monster is face-down at the start of the Damage Step, the effect of “Ally of Justice Catastor” will not apply.[1]

So is Jin the same?

Yes, they work the same way
