Anyone here wearing braces?

k so im getting new braces (the normal meta wired ones unfortunatley):

so far i have those 4 weird metal things glued to my molars (what do u call them, brackets?)and anyway its annoying (theyre constantly rubbing the walls of my mouth and i just hate it)..

anyway besides the major wreck in my self-image, and the weird change in my diet, can someone tell me if this is going to be a fun or a painful experience?

am i gonna get used to them?

I don't have braces, but I know people with them. First of all, don't worry about your self image, Braces don't make people look weird. I think people with Braces look nice. I don't know why though...
I always thought that if I had braces, I would look even better, but in the end, I didn't need them.

I wore braces when I was younger.
For the most part you won't notice much, on occasion you'll get abit of food stuck somewhere but its more of an uncomfortable feeling then anything.
The most painful part about braces is having them taken out, but even that wasn't too bad and it doesn't take long.

OMG...the next year is gonna be the longest year in my life xD

had braces didn't get picked (maybe because i was taller than anybody in class)
it was fine, brushing was crappy, might want to stay away from popcorn for awhile or face longer brushing hours. Taking the braces off wasn't bad it just sound like nails on a chalk board when they where taking off the glue.

still wearing a retainer on the top teeth at night and have a perment one on the bottom

i actually have a sort of weakness for girls with braces.....it's kinda weird.
