Disrespectful Admin Abuse and Collusion



Today, an admin. cancelled my duel against Vankishin for allegedly "slow" play.
I am a fair and knowledgable player. I play fluidly and at an acceptable speed.
During one important turn, in my duel against Vankishin, I told my opponent that
I had to think and it would take some time (the exact conversation follows).

After I discard Dandylion to special summon Bulb with the effect of One-for-One,

“Vankishin: i feel sackiness
TheSonicVision: thinking
Vankishin: speed up
Vankishin: please
TheSonicVision: thinking
TheSonicVision: lots of options
TheSonicVision: i'll ply faster after this turn
TheSonicVision: but this is probbaly gonna be a slow turn
TheSonicVision: no way around it..i'll try
Vankishin: called an admin for slow play
Vankishin has left the duel”

Moments after I make several huge plays, I receive a prompt saying the duel was
cancelled. There was no conversation with an admin. He did not visit the duel.
Vankishin did not warn me that he was calling an admin. He told me he called an
admin-that's past tense- right after it was cancelled. He then immediately left
the game. He didn't even tell me which admin. made the decision.

Notice the admins online at the time. It is possible that the guilty admin.
immediately left the game, as Vankishin did. I suspect they are friends and
this admin. "did him a favor" in a losing position. And it IS a losing
position.

I have just summoned Trish, but have not used her effect yet. I can use Bulb's
effect this turn as well. My opponent is playing zombies. I have two Crows in hand.
His Decree stymies him and indicates that he probably does not run a strong trap
line-up. Unless he tops (or is reserving) a Dark Hole, he will most likely lose the
duel. I should also note that the duel is cancelled IMMEDIATELY after I summon Trish.

Slow play is an illegal stall tactic in a timed match, but in general, there are no
time limits for players. I had Mind Control, Dandylion, Tengu, and One-for-One. I had
many options. My main issue was figuring out if there was any way to get Librarian
and/or Formula + Trishula. The Mind Control made more options possible than the
usual combos (he had a Zombie Master on the field, which I nabbed).

Vankishin should be banned and the admin. he colluded with should be sought out.
If I had been officially warned, I would have definitely sped uo my movements.
The lack of conversation made me think my actions were being accepted.

Please investigate this matter.

Also. If the admin has deemed that you were infact "slow playing" on purpose. Then its only fair that he cancelled the duel.

^ so, without any warning or message whatsoever, an admin can "ghost" over my duel,
wait until I STOP playing "slowly," and only after I make some strong, productive plays, cancel my duel?

he listens to only one side of the argument and doesn't warn me?

and what does "on purpose" mean in my situation? i have a great set-up
on the field and many powerful plays to make. i can't win on time.
i'm not stalling in a losing position just to frustrate my opponent.
i'm winning. i'm playing slow so i can optimize my play. i even politely
tell my opponent that only this turn i'll play slowly. and once again,
i was not warned. my opponent didn't warn me. an admin didn't warn me.
my opp. did not say he was getting an admin. if he really wanted me to
pay faster, why not say, "i'm getting an admin." he didn't. he wanted
an excuse to justify his cheap trick.

perhaps you glanced over my original post. that's understandable, i suppose
it is a longer message than one would expect. i have no idea which admin

Some decks need to time to think (especially decks with plant engines because their are literally MANY options). An admins job is to assess the situation and then act. By not contacting you they skipped a very important step. You must hear both parties stories. People need time to think, rushing an opponent is unsportsmanlike because it could potentially mess with their game plan. Lets not get this confused with "Stall Tactics" though. Were a user intentionally stalls the opponent for free wins. I don't think this was your intent.

I am pretty confident I know who did it and will be having a stern talk with this individual.

Thankyou for bringing this up. This kind of behavior is unacceptable by staff.

I don't think the name is relevant to be revealed to the public.
If the admin did such a thing, you will most likely not see that person as an admin anymore, the best that person could hope for is a second chance.
