First message reminder?

Is there any way to turn off the "first message reminder"? Most forums I've seen give you an option with that sort of stuff in Preferences, but I don't see anything like that.

Currently you cannot turn this option off for yourself only. I can remove the First post reminder from the entire forum but that is it. I don't think it should be a big deal for you

Yeah I think its annoying and isn't needed too. Its better if we turn it off.

What it does is that it makes people feel welcome to just pop in a topic and skip reading everything, just the first post and the last page. This will result in people repeating what has been said already. That's why I'd discourage it.

It's a very convenient tool not only for members but staff, especially in tournaments. I don't think a reminder of the first post should be so attention grabbing that it will make you completely forget what you were going to post. The first topic reminder will stay for now.

I enjoy having it. If I go to last page I wont need to read the first page to understand what OP is getting at.
