Decks and Techs-Do your homework
Hey guys, its time for another amazing segment of decks and techs. This one is all about doing your own research when your building your deck. The Meta is a great way to asses that quality of a deck, but you should always test out a deck before you make an opinion on a deck. I will give you a few example.
"Gravekeepers can never use Tuners (except effect veiler, and the occasional gale the whirlwind)"
Most people you ask will believe this if you ask them. However, if you do some research of your own, you will realize that this statement is the epitome of erroneousness. I also believed this for some time, until I decided that my gravekeepers deck was getting a little predictable. I searched through all of the tuners and found something amazing. One of my favorite cards ever. I was completely floored when I realized I hadn't made the connection between the tuner and this deck. I speak, of course, of Genex Ally Birdman.
This may surprise some of you people, but allow me to explain. Imagine for a moment you are playing a GK deck, and you have a face up Spy and a Recruiter. Your spy has already been used, and is useless. If you can't see the clear combo with birdman their, I will show you.
-Return the spy to your hand and play birdman
-From here you can
-Synchro for Orient Dragon and take out a pesky stardust or trishula
-Synchro for Brio and get just about anything
-Get leviathan dragon if you just want to go for a beater
-After you do this (unless you made leviathan) recruiter searches out a GK for you
-Re-set your spy, or play the monster you grabbed to add more advantage
Clearly, if I hadn't look this up for myself, I would still be under the misguided impression that synchros don't work in GK. But enough of that, lets move on to the next one
"Samurai are dead this format with 1 smoke signal and 1 shi en"
Many people were to optimistic when they declared samurai dead. Indeed, they have taken a serious hit, but Samurai will always be a strong deck, so long as they have Shi En's Dojo, Kageki, and Kagamusha of the Six Samurai. Dojo is able to make the deck incredibly searchable, and the kageki>>kagamusha>>Shi En combo is what made the Samurai so vicious in the first place. Now, all of this is theory, but I did my OWN research and discovered with my samurai deck, I still one a lot more games then I lost. Now the deck certainly isn't what it used to be, but it still not down for the count yet.
Now I hope you learned something from this relatively short and oddly specific article, when it comes to this game, don't trust people on their word, do your own testing, and find out answers for yourself. I guarantee you will be happy for it
Stay thirsty my friends

"samurais dead" i used to think the same but their still incredible fast and with xyz they can make a lot of them in one turn(i made a shock ruller and a disigma on the same turn)
genex birdman is an amazing card, the best tuner of genex, he can be used as synchro and xyz material, some people use him with tengu to activate his effect and still have a tengu on hand(i dont know why but they take care of it)

I gotta agree with you. Six Sams are dead only to those who netdecked, not those who originally made theirs.
