Which interface for siding would you prefer?
Siding Mechanism
Concerning the siding mechanism, there are a few user interface ideas I have been considering. The intention of this poll is to gain some insight into what most users would prefer before actual coding gets done.
Multi-card selection with swap button
This method involves clicking cards in main/side/extra decks to select them, and then click "Swap" to swap their locations in the deck constructor. For example, a user may click 2 cards in the side deck and 2 cards in the main deck, and then click "Swap" to swap the side deck cards with the main deck cards.
Single card swap
This method is similar to the previous, except cards are swapped one at a time. The user clicks a card in the side deck and then clicks a card in the main/extra deck, swapping the locations of those 2 cards. This mechanism forces swapping cards one at a time, but skips the extra step of clicking "Swap". This single-card swap can also be done via drag-and-drop.
Drag-and-drop with smaller main deck cards
This method is identical to the current mechanism in the deck constructor, except that the cards in the main deck are shrunk down to the size of the cards in the side/extra decks. The main deck cards have to be shrunk down because side decking requires extra room for swapping. Example: a user running 60/15/15 will be unable to perform siding without extra room. Room for 75/30/30 will give them enough room to side comfortably.
Drag-and-drop with expanding areas
This idea is identical to the previous, except that the deck cards will not be shrunk. Instead, the deck/side/extra regions will expand when you hover over them. The expanded area will provide room for more cards in each region.

Not to be Captain Obvious, but the point of the thread is to vote on a siding system to be implemented on DN. I would assume that means Match Play is coming.

BLS, I applaud this. All these great changes, so quickly, after a huge gap of nothingness. You sure know how to keep us on our toes.

Single swap is my choice, though Id like Multi too.
Fun fact: Thought the topic was called "Sliding mechanism" not "Siding Mechanism" so I was completely confused the first time I read it.

Re: Siding Mechanism
i think Multi-card selection with swap button is the faster and better Option 4 a match duel
Off Topic : if this match duel thing is really happening then this will surely be an a Evolution Step 4 DN ,, i mean in next years we may be playing Tag Duels or even Auto Dueling instead of manual O_o ,,
Well this is no dream because i trust DN Staff may do it one day ,,

Multi-card selection with swap button for me please.
From the votes I think it is obvious what the choice is going to be.

Re: Siding Mechanism
Drag-and-drop with smaller main deck cards sounds more feasible and convenient, since you just need to tweak the deck constructor a bit, and drag-and-drop is already familiar to all users so putting a different style of modifying deck cards would be kinda odd...

I voted "single swap"
The multi-Swap option is great... But noobs exist and they will be pised of becose they cant send 2 cards from side deck to deck and send none to side
So... I think 1 by 1 is easiest to do and will have less problems with new players

Voted Multi-Swap, it get's things done faster,
and since what you took out should be the same to what you sided in as mentioned in the rules, that would be the best option,
Two Thumbs Up on this, +Rep added
Question? Since this involves the Match System, how does Dueling Network keep Tab or note of who won game 1 or 2?? is there a button there saying you won or lose game 1 or game 2...either going to game 3 or ending at game 2??

Voted for Multiple Choice.
Makes things quicker, we do not need another wast eof time lie the shuffle ( I do not say anything against shuffling, it just takes horribly long to shuffle, and it is extreme with a slow connection).
Match System will prolly not be added, I think...

Re: Siding Mechanism
Chose drag and drop with small pics. Just seems a bit easier to me than clicking 2 cards and swapping like that.
Though looking at results it seems like the winner is obvious XD

not to call you stupid or anything like that, but we probably wouldn't be voting on a way to implement side-decking if there wasn't going to be a match feature. Just sayin.

Yeah guys matches are coming (Captain Obvious i know but hell look 2 posts up)
TBH every one of the choice are fine
I just went with the one that seems faster. When matches are done idt people will complain about the siding mechanism TBH but good poll nonetheless

BLS going to run for a Noble Peace Prize or something with his genius?
Maybe he will do like Kaiba did and end up making Duel Disk like in the show.

suggestion to bls
you know to me and possibly to others making each game a 3 round manditory could be bad i know somtimes i only have time for one quick round maybe think instead of trying to make it all manditory try like a sub bracket system under ranked and unranked that would still be one round or even just drop trad for one round matches cuz honestly not many people play trad anyway
but i also want to say thank you i play in real life and this is such a relief not having to buy all the cards i am pretty broke and i feel bad you are doing all this work wish i could help lol but thank you bls for all the effort you freaking rock bro
oh and btw happy bday

Update! Rematch with siding (10/27/11)
You can now rematch your opponents and side between duels! At this moment rematches are optional. Enforced full matches is planned for a future release.
Wow That was Fast,
so does it mean you get more points in Ranked if you go into a Match Duel??

I don't think enforced matches is the way to go. Keep them optional. Not everyone wants to play a full match. It is something that should be the players choice.

Im Hoping they would also make adjustment to the point system along the way, where
2-0 get's the most point,
2-1 - 2nd most points,
1-2 - 3rd most points,
0-2 - you still get points since you completed the match,
Those who PRESSED the Quit Button - get's a negative REP and the opponent gets positive REP,
Internet connection disconnected or computer disconnected - up to BLS how to point system it,
Im in full support of the ENFORCED FULL MATCHES!!

Re: Siding Mechanism
I don't see why we would need to enforce match duels... Not everyone wants to play two/three games with the same person in a row, and they shouldn't be penalized for it... Deck testing? Also there will be times where they might not have time to complete the match, and single duels are completely fine. Besides, match duels are usually only played in tourneys and wars. Unless agreed between members, most of the time they'll finish their duel and move on.
While enforcing match duels helps with distributing points more accurately among those who actually deserve it, I still don't think it's a good idea. Perhaps awarding less points to single duels than given now, and more to those who play matches.

Match duels should not be mandatory/and or enforced for obvious reasons already pointed out ITT.
Nonetheless just stopping by to say thanks for adding this feature it was desperately need.

"Enforced full matches is planned for a future release."
That means that you'll be able to pick between single duels and full (enforced) matches, not that all games will be matches.

Good to know. At least that way people won't join duels that the host asks to be a match and then quit after one game (win or lose)TamA wrote:"Enforced full matches is planned for a future release."

so there would be a button before the match for both players to choose from?
like single duel button
or
