Apparantly plants are still a very strong deck in the real world.

And DW and Lightsworns are overhyped and underused in it too with agents still on top.

The reason DWs didn't top is because idiotic forums like this one tell people to run bad DWs. Agents took a while to top. Remember?

DW decks lost because they had some terrible builds.
Aslo, not even alot of people played them.
Lightsworns are too inconsistant.
Plants are still the best.

The only two things that hurt DW's chances of getting into the top was that only 10% of the field was DW, and most builds were not consistent.
On top of that, of the DW deck players in the tournament was DQ'd on one of the most bogus calls to be seen this year. 8-0 record was a guaranteed top.

Am I keeping an eye on YCS columbus? Nope. I already know that same fucking cookie cutter tengu/plant synchro deck is going to dominate again... 20 of those decks shown in the link you gave are Tengu/plant synchro... Lame

I think that DWs did badly because they were overhyped and other decks sided specifically for them (a lot of side deck cards can hurt them).
And because Plants and Agents are still better than them.

Brandon Whigley was running DW at Columbus and was 8-0 for the event when targeted by Konami for a deckcheck due to his affiliation with Alter Reality Games (ARG) He was using a double deck box and he had cards Agents cards plus sleeves in his box. He knows that alone will get him a game loss penalty and he willingly admitted to having the extra cards in the deck box. Judge walks off with the deck to do the deck check and when they come back, they DQ'd him for "attempting to deceive a judge."
The call was completely bogus and only made because of Brandon's affiliation with ARG. This is also not the first time that Konami has made a biased call against ARG player as at the event before Columbus they banned one player, and the event before that had also made a bogus DQ.
