Solved Swords of Revealing Light

Post  BlackMeteorDragon 2011-11-29, 00:28

So I was just in a dual, and activated SoRL. On my opponants turn, he summoned Caius the Shadow Monarch, and targeted my SoRL to get rid of it. I was using the SoRL card to represent the effect (the card itself had already been used), but my opponant insisted my swords was destroyed and the effect ended. SoRL still had a turn on it. An admin also agreed on his view, even though this is not correct to my knowlege. Any ideas?

1.
Dual = Pot of Duality
Duel = Playing

2.
Caius doesn't destroy, he removes

3.
Swords is normal spell
and admin is correct
Read or Learn 54 pages of YGO manual

It says on the card it remains on the field. So you weren't representing the card's effect, it was actually on the field. Swords is not a continuous spell card though, it behaves like a one. So when it is removed by whatever means the effect disappears. Your opponent and the admin was correct.

Read or Learn 54 pages of YGO manual (or easier to google what is continous spell)

Irony. You pointed out how he spelled duel wrong, yet you spell continuous wrong. Not everyone is fluent in english. And it's a normal spell at that.

(Bleh... should've edit my post then...)

So,. easier example would be if a D-Hero Diamond Dude discard Sword of Revealing light,

He could activate sword of revealing effect, since it normal spell....

or not ?

(the answer was NOT... but I still cann't explain why)

You can activate the effect that flips monsters face up only. Swords must be face-up in order for it's second effect to be active, so that part will not work.

Just saw that little note at the bottom which is wrong again. It is a normal spell card, therefore Diamond Dude can activate its effect.

SoRL is a card on the field. It exists on the field. It can be destroyed by MST. It can be bonced by Giant Trunade. It can be banished by Caius.
