could i chain Gemini Imps to Mind Crush?

IMO, i can due to the text written in Gemini Imp that said, "When a card effect controlled by your opponent is activated which would cause you to discard from your hand"

But some people said i can't due to the YCS when this happen.

Could i chain Gemini Imp? If can't, why i can't chain Gemini Imp?

Gemini Imps can not be used against Mind Crush- A ruling issued at YCS Colombus overturned the old UDE ruling.

However, I don't know which ruling is official at the time. I would say the most recently issued one that matches up with a lot of other similar rulings is the correct one- Gemini Imps can not be used against Mind Crush.

makes sense, mind crush doesnt guarentee a discard, so the imp doesnt work, same way stardust cant negate optional effects that destroy at resolution, like that one spellcaster card where you ss a spellcaster then you can destroy one card

Gemini Imps cannot be used against Mind Crush, as Mind Crush's activation and effect do not guarantee that you will have to discard. Same with Snipe Hunter against Stardust Dragon.

What I HAVE been wondering about is that it's been previously ruled that Gemini Imps can not be used in the damage step. (Against Spirit Reaper?)

Which is odd, as it's a monster effect that negates stuff, much like how Stardust or Evolzars would.

maybe because it discards from the hand and that makes it different? dunno, that is weird
