Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell

Discard 1 Spell Card from your hand to negate the activation and the effect of a Spell Card and destroy it. Your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards of the same name (including the Spell Card that is destroyed by this card's effect) during the rest of the Duel.

Single handingly kills decks reliant on 1 or 2 Spells including many Ritual and Fusion decks. A dude negated my Gem-Knight Fusion with this card crippling my deck. I narrowly averted a similar disaster while playing with Gishkis when I MST'd another opponent's Cursed Seal. Also increases the likelyhood of dead draws. Obviously shouldn't be mained but I've found it very useful as a side.

Strange how the text I copied is different from the picture. Then again the text isn't from the wikia since wikia started lagging for me.

Situational and doesn't seem that good against most decks.

A lot of builds don't run multiple copies of the same spell, unless it's MST and/or PoD. Not worth activating this against those, especially MST.

Never thought about it as a side-deck option, might consider.

It was worth, before they start made autopilot decks which usually already packed has S/T desctruction effect, even worse... any card on field(inzektors, dark world, six sams)

Effective against gravekeepers, but then again... cann't do anything agains an autopilot decks

Not even consistent enough as a side deck option.

- Discard 1 Spell Card from your hand as a Cost

That Con is a big reason why you don't see this card and just the fact it only hits spell cards.

Using it against Duality or field spell is pretty funny though.

Necrovalley,dragon ravine,gates,fusion gate,miracle fusion,gemini spark,united,ascetism,gishki mirror,book of taiyou and book of life are bad in the meta.

The con alone is enough to make it totally not worth it.

Saying all those cards are bad in the meta is an exaggeration. They aren't the absolute best cards, but they are pivotal in their respective decks. It's not like it's unheard of for tier one decks to lose to anything below it.

Not that good against Meta Deck, but kinda helpful in side, against decks which rely on their Field Spell (not gonna mention the obvious ones). Also good against Exodia, and can also equal the loss of a card with Dandylion. It is good as a surprise attack. But more, I do not see any use in it.

It's a decent card but only worthwhile against Dragunities and Gravekeeper's (and other decks reliant on their Field Spell Cards).

But you need to have a Spell Card in hand to discard. Which isn't always possible.

that Pros only make this card isnt a good card in paper, like the other.

Well, to be honest I've used it in Gravekeeper's before to hit competing fields and key cards. It's surprising how often I'd find myself with a spare Steele or something and just ditch it for Cursed Seal. I guess it does better in decks that don't tend to use all their hand resources quickly.

I often find spare Spell Cards in my hand too. Usually spare MSTs or Field Spell (considering I run 2-3 Terraforming and most of my Field Spells like Secret Village and Citadel protect themselves). It's also good in Gem-Knight and Koa'ki Meiru decks which focus on recycling 1 Spell Card.

Kinda strange how on the same day I post this thread a thread about the same card is posted later that afternoon on Pojo...

Great against Gem-knights and Gishkis.
But borh decks aren't popular enough to side against them.

Use it against Super Polymerization and realize that you fail at life to not properly read.
