Ok, so I've been having a lot of mixed responses to this. Basically, I choose to banish my Infernity Mirage for Hundred Eyes Dragon's effect. The problem is that Mirage has to be tributed for it's effect, so whether it activates in the grave or not & whether or not Hundred Eyes loosing it's name creates a problem. The card effects are word-for-word in the above links. Does anyone know if this works or not?

All effects resolve where they activate. Effects activate in the place from which you chose to use them; in this case, on the field.

Hundred Eyes Dragon loses the name and effect of Infernity Mirage once it hits the graveyard, yes, but it does not need to retain them since the activation of the effect in and of itself was legal and does not depend on where Mirage (Hundred Eyes) is located. You will summon the target Infernity monsters.

You can copy mirage's effect and activate it of course. The effect will resolve properly and you will get your monsters. The effect is activated on the field and it resolves on the field. The fact that H-ED lost his effect when he left the field as a cost is irrelevant despite he lost his effect once he left the fielg. The effect is on the chain and won't be affected by him no longer having an effect. Now if he were to copy sangan or any other monster that activates in the grave then of course the answer is no but this works.
