Solved Elemental Hero Absolute Zero

Post  Fuyuzora 2011-07-30, 23:43

My oppenent and I had a long discussion. He gained the control of my Absolute Zero and sacrificed him for Caius. Now the question is: Is his monster destroyed? When I played Yugioh Tag Force 5 and when I looked at the Wiki Rulings (but it was OCG) then his effect is activated outside of the field, that means his monsters are destroyed. Is that right?

He goes to YOUR graveyard, so it's your effect to destroy his monsters.

Yes his monster(s) are destroyed because E-HERO AZ effect resolves in YOUR graveyard. Same thing with Sangan. If they take control of your Sangan and send it to your graveyard, you get to search not your opponent. It resolves in your grave.

Yugioh Wikia wrote:If your "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero" is under your opponent's control, then when it is removed from play by "Dark Core" etc, it activates as your effect, and you destroy all monsters on your opponent's field. If it is removed from play temporarily with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter"/"Dimensionhole"/etc, then it is considered to be under your opponent's control while removed from play, so it activates as your opponent's effect and destroys all monsters on your field.
You get the effect.

I also said the effect resolve is the same as Sangan, but his argument was, that Sangan is a searcher and there is a difference.

there is never a difference. It all depends where the effect activates (on the field or outside of the field) not what kind of effect it is.

The ruling TheVoid pointed out is the correct one. In this particular scenario, you'd get the effect.
