Solved direct / effect vs call of the haunted

Post  kyubey 2011-08-02, 07:55

in my field: just a facedown call of the haunted (let's just say there's a brionac in the grave)

in the enemy field: chaos sorcerer & snipe hunter

*double question*

1. if snipe hunter direct attack me 1st and i chained it with call of the haunted to revive brionac..
*snipe hunter stopped it's attack*
then my opponent suicide attack with his chaos sorcerer
can snipe hunter direct attack again?

2. if chaos sorcerer direct attack....but stopped because i revived brionac
is chaos sorcerer eff can be used in m2?
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster in your Graveyard from play. Once per turn, you can remove 1 face-up monster on the field from play. If you activate this effect, this card cannot attack during this turn.

if you sttoped the attack of snipe hunter, yoor opponent can do 2 things:
1- continue his attack, so snipe hunter attacks brio
2- stops his attack and snipe hunter cant attack anymore

if your opponent didnt attack with chaos sorcerer, he can use his eff on main phase 2, but not if he attack and the attack was stopped

To explain better, each monster can only declare one attack per turn. This is why if I cylinder your attack, you cant attack again. Once the attack stops, its already too late.

Short answer:

1) No.
2) No.

So what kangtuji and zerods said was correct.

Long answer, as stated in the official rulebook:

After you’ve announced your attacking monster and the attack target monster during a Battle Step, the attack target might be removed from the field, or a new monster may be placed on the opponent’s side of the field before the Damage Step, due to a card’s effect. This causes a "Replay". When this occurs, you can choose to attack with the same monster again, or choose to attack with a different monster, or choose not to attack at all. Note that if you attack with a different monster, the first monster is still considered to have declared an attack, and it cannot attack again this turn.

Solved & closed.
