**system time is located at the top left of the forum in a tab saying "System Time click it and work out your time for your group.
Round 1 will be held from the 18th-27th of October (depending on your group). It will consist of 8 days of grouped free-for-all heart point rounds. The 8 days are outlined above. When you accumulate a total of 4 Heart pieces you will need to create a new topic here to be accepted into the finals. Only 8 participants can enter the finals from each group so make sure you post a new topic with all of your victories and losses as soon as you win your 4th Heart piece.

In this round:
- Players all start with (1) one Heart Piece.
- Upon losing you give (1) Heart Piece to your opponent.
- A player who's Heart piece count is (0) zero will be eliminated and can no longer duel for this tournament.
- Players dueling for WDC when they have 0 Heart Points will be black listed and not able to participate in future tournaments.
- It is important that the winner of a match creates a new topic in this section when a match is completed for records. Use the following format:
Title of the Topic: [your username] vs [your opponents username]
Post: [winner's username (Current Heart points)] defeated [loser's username (current heart points)
Include screenshots if you have any.

For example:
Title of the topic: The Detonator vs Miley Syrus+
Post: The Detonator (1) defeated Miley Syrus+ (1)
- The loser of the match will need to post a reply to your topic confirming their loss. If you have screenshots confirming your win, post these in the topic. They are more valuable than your opponents confirmation.
- Remember!! Upon successfully collecting 4 heart points, you will be required to create a new topic here summarizing how you got all your heart points and from which duelists.

**If you have any questions on the procedure of the tournament or need help feel free to contact anyone on the listed Contact Staff/Judge List.

@ Barricade
If you are +5:00 Your day will start at roughly 5am on the morning of October the 18th.

@ Phraxure
Nothing for participants, the weekend will be used by staff to make sure that from the 4 days, the people who posted saying they have 4 heart points actually do have the right points. That way we can decide the first 32 into the finals.

This sucks pretty bad to be honest if you live in a certain area you have to be up by 5.a.m or earlier and if your not you have no chance to compete because i really doubt it will take that long for 8 people to get 4 pieces.

So, in this example match, you had won, but when you post your current heart points you don't include the one you just won until it's confirmed?

Also, are there no limitations on the decks we can use? Because it seems like a lot of people are going to be using FTK decks.

Technically there are no deck restrictions so far but it gives me shudders if people are using FTK decks... quite unfair for those who use normal decks and are dead before they even start their turn :/

I agree. I'm probably not going to get to duel before other people in my group win enough Heart Points for the finals because I have class. Better luck with the scheduling next month I guess.

Well lets not get hasty, because if I remember, unless they changed it, Its supposed to be in a Match format, meaning you have to win 2 out of 3 duels to get a heart point.

I don't like how we only have one day to duel the opponent... considering when I logged on, I checked when my opponent was last on, and he logged off right before I got on (12 minutes before). So we would take about 2-3 days trying to catch our opponents..

Still thats not very hard to do. Especially considering its going to be a large amounts of ftk and otks. Its not that it really matters its one little online tournament if this was the set at a jump or locals id be upset. I'll just eventually choose if im waking up this early to play or not. Never mind if you think about it if your opponents not awake or in school etc. its going to take even longer so in reality its going to come down to first come first win

The challonge brackets are not being used this is free-for-all, you duel anyone in your group so add people from your group to your friends list before the day starts so you can contact people straight away.

We are aware that everyone has school on weekdays and that is just going to have to be dealt with. With having over 750 people involved this was the only way to quickly get down to the 64 limit without spending a month using a bracket.

@everyone.
You all need to keep track of your heart points. Your duels will not be confirmed immediately so just continue dueling. When posting your matches include the heart points you currently have, even if your previous duels have not been confirmed. If at any point, when reviewing your duels you have lied about your heart points (which we can easily check from the records). You will be eliminated. To avoid issues, including screenshots of every win is probably the best way to go.

Also when someone loses a heart point they are eliminated. There is roughly 90 people in each group so I can imagine a lot of people will drop quite quickly getting 4 pieces may not be as easy as you think.

No, you duel people that are in Group 7, if that is your group, until you have zero or four heart points. Who you duel in that group is up to you, but you don't duel them all.

Even if you are not one of the first 8 to get 4 heart pieces on your scheduled day, keep trying until you do and post anyway. You never know one of the first 8 might be disqualified for lying about their wins.

Round 1: Procedure [READ BEFORE POSTING] Empty ***TOURNAMENT TIPS***

Post 3nd0ftheWORLD 2011-10-17, 05:20

so, i recently looked at this, and i found that MANY people are saying they'll have problems with the tournament. i'm not a professional, but these are my views on...

~OTK/FTK DECKS~
yes, people will be more likely to play these decks because this is a TOURNAMENT. but remember, those kind of decks NEED a certain hand to work, and more over, they NEED certain cards in certain places to complete itself. i feel that it is highly recommended to play regular decks, and perhaps splash in cards that can STOP these things, such as...

Thunder King Rai-oh, Effect Veiler, D.D. Crow, etc.

secondly, it is MATCH FORMAT. remember that otk/ftk decks are usually VERY INCONSISTENT. and with a regular deck that you feel comfortable using in a duel, it's best 2 out of 3

~FINDING MEMBERS IN YOUR GROUP~
the tournament is only in 1 day, and i agree when we say that it is short notice. BUT! i was only able to schedule 3 duels with others, of the over 80 members in my group. look on your group list, and if you see ANYONE on the online list (yes, this'll take time) then message them. hopefully they'll message you back

~SCHOOL/JOB/ETC~
i am in school too, and this is a HUGE inconvenience to me, and i'm in HIGH SCHOOL. not to forget i also have household chores, breakfast to cook, and all that jazz. if you can't duel at a certain time, that's just the way it is. take in to consideration that THIS IS A GAME and not EVERYONE can win. just do your best at the time that you can, and that is all that you can really do

***i am unsure about what to say for those who will LIE on this thing, but seriously? why would you lie? is that even worth it? besides, i have faith that the administrators of the website will have record of things like this, and like it was mentioned before, TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF YOUR WIN/LOSS. it is the best verification that you can get when it comes to duels like this***

3nd0ftheWORLD sums everything up quite nicely. Ill just like to add one thing. To make things easier for you. Add about 20-25 people in your group to your friends list. You will see them online straight away when they come on. This will allow you to schedule duels even easier!

I assume that it IS for day 1, but I also want to know to make sure. And if it's the same way for day 2, I guess it's just the way the tournament goes. >.>

Okay, i got an email a couple of days ago that directed me to quite a big bracket on challonge. Is that my whole group? Or is the section im in my group? Just wanting to verify Smile
One other thing, i live in aussie land (+10 GMT, 11 on daylight savings) im just a bit unsure about the time zones. Cheers

I have added a countdown timer in the announcement bar under the forum banner (top of forum)

Day 1 begins when the countdown is finished. Be aware, day 1 only applies to those in group 1. You only ever duel on your day. Keep and eye on the announcement bar as days end and start it will be updated.

This should solve the timezone confusion people are having.

If your opponent lies and duels you when they dont have any heart points then do not worry. This will not hurt you in any way, your match will still count. However, your opponent better prepare for the consequences. This tournament is to be taken with utmost seriousness. And breaking the rules in that way will lead to the removal of your account.

Ok so there is something needed to be sais about this, Since you all know by now the Pulsar OTK/FTK, that is most likely where all the FTK complains are coming...
BUT! The Pulsar Dragon ISNT a valid card!, Deton posted that this goes by the advanced OCG and TCG format rules which means NO unrealeased cards,
Pulsar is one of those cards, only known cause of a magazine page.
So to all the hotheads thinking about running that FTK/OTK deck You CANT,
You better change decks cause if you are found out you could be DQed.
So all the complains are baseless, back to inconsistent/bad FTK/OTK for this tourny.

-a Question we are allowed to change decks between matches right?
and third like WORLD said its recommended if you Screen your win.

hmm still should have some restrictions of some decks even if it sounds weird or not nearly everybody will run dark worlds or agents not because they like them but cause its the easy way to win..this shoudnt be for the winner but for the fun.

so basically this is a race who will collect first the 4 hearts and claim it from each group? hmm thats still not so fair if its like that cause people in some time zones wont be able to duel at he time required and wont reach others if its a race..

According to what I read when I first signed up for the tournament and if I remember correct this was from a Dn admin it was posted if the card exist in DN then it is usable in the tournament. So according to this Pulsar is playable
