My absence for a short while

<img src="https://2img.net/h/oi53.tinypic.com/kcc6mp.png" align="left" width="135" height="150" border="45" />So members are aware of the current situation, I will be announcing my absence temporary reduced activity on Dueling Network for the next 2 and a half weeks to focus on my final exams for my major studies at University. Of course I will still be around here and there to make sure the WDC is finished off for this month and that things are ok mainly with the forum, actually logging onto DN will probably make me stay on for hours like I usually would do so I'll probably do that on the rare occasion.

I will be returning to my usual activity (and probably increased activity) when my summer break starts on November 16th, until then Atomic Nightmare will be the person to foremost go to with DN related issues, as well as any of the senior staff more than happy to help. As for the forum, I trust TamA will oversee mostly what goes on and I trust will keep it running successfully.

When i return expect to see a lot of good things happening as my spare time will increase dramatically for a few months. I was able to accomplish a lot during my winter break on the forums with updates and hopefully I can translate the same when I get back. Some of you may have noticed small updates here and there over the passed few months, some that are obviously incomplete. The most major updatesI will list below others.


1). Add a friend from post profile.
On the left (or right if you use you the post profile togger). You will see at the bottom of a post profile (where the avatar for a user is) a "Add as friend" link. Many are unaware that the forum has a friend and rival system in place. Although its not as accessible and useful as it could potentially be, the addition of "add as friend" is the first of steps to make this system more noticeable and worthwhile.

2). Guest Log in panel and portal
Yes the portal is somewhat looking slightly better. It resembles the old resources page slightly (with thanks to vantagesp for the image navigation bar), it is still currently incomplete as resources becomes integrated into the forum. We have a temporary resources system found in one of the top pop up tabs until the integration is complete. Also, guests have a sleek new sliding log-in panel available when visiting the forum portal. This also increases the likability of the forum to guests upon their initial visit. If you haven't seen this, log out of your account and check it out!

3). Send Post Now
The default "Send" button on the forum has been changed to "Post Now", seems more appropriate.

4). Quick Reply redirect page... gone
The most recent update, the page which you are redirected to upon posting a quick reply on the forum has now been eliminated. I found this to become rather annoying when posting and quite unnecessary. Instead of being sent to this notification page telling you that your post was sent (er yeah obviously), you are instead redirected straight to your post. Quicker, easier and less annoying!

EDIT: due to a multiple post bug I reverted back from this update until I look into it further.

I got 2 free weeks coming this Friday (Thursday's my last day of finals and projects) so yeh, I'll be happy to help with whatever.
