when you set it on defense position and an opponent monster attract it does the effect trigger (-1000 lp to opponent).

I've been playing JPT before and all flip effect monster its effect triggers when an opponent monsters attack it. and recently an opponent of mine said that it wasn't the case because it wasn't flip summoned.

sorry but its not a flip effect. its when this card is flip summoned.

There is a difference between FLIP and flip SUMMON.

Look at, let's say, Morphing Jar. You'll see "FLIP: _________" effect is applied at any time it's flipped up.

Stealth bird only applies if you flip summon it on your turn, not if it's flipped to attack position by, lets say, book of taiyou, where you select one monster and flip it in atk position from set.

that's the difference really.

Also there are monster which i would call "semi-FLIP" which have effect like "When this card is flipped face-up...". Their effects activate when they are flipped manually or by battle but are not traded as "FLIP Effect Monsters"
