Dark Bribe vs Gem-Knight Fusion

Someone trying to negate Gem-Knight Fusion Last effect with Dark Bribe
Question is.. can he/she do it ?

"Send from you hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster Card, then Special Summon that monster from the Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) If this card is in the Graveyard: You can banish 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your Graveyard; add this card to your hand."

Short answer: No
Long Answer: Still No...

I knew it ...

But my opp keep insisting Dark Bribe can negate spell / Trap

In this case it says activation, as in activation of the card AKA it being played.
Now if it said negate the activation of its effect, that would be a different story.
Long story short, answers still no.

It has no use anyway, it's the same as using Bribe on Upstart.
But no, cannot negate it.
