Evolution : A guide to the Evol Archetype !
Evol is an archetype/series of FIRE-Attribute monsters compromised of 3 sub-archetypes : Evoltile (Reptiles) which can special summon the Evolsaur (Dinosaurs) monsters & the latter can XYZ to form the Evolzar (Dragons).
I.) The Members :
- Spoiler:
- I.1.) Evoltile :
They're at the bottom of the evolution chain. Their effects revolves around summoning the Evolsaur monsters.
There are currently 7 members of this sub-archetype :
- Evoltile Casineria :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 3
ATK : 1600 / DEF : 400
Effect:
At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card destroyed an opponent's monster by battle: You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 2 Level 6 or lower FIRE Dinosaur-Type monsters with the same name from your Deck, but their effects are negated. Banish them during the End Phase.
The strongest member in term of attack points and can act as a pseudo "Rescue Rabbit". If this card destroys a monster and survive the battle phase, it can tribute itself to summon from your deck 2 Dinosaur-Type monsters of the same name for an easy XYZ (Rank 4 or 6 in our case). It's attack, while not bad, is nothing to write home about. It can overpower defense-position monster or combined with "Forbidden Lance" / "Shrink" to overcome stronger opposition. It isn't a must have, but you can always run a copy of it.
- Evoltile Gephyro :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level :1
ATK : 200 / DEF : 400
Effect:
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Evolsaur" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.
Only good in Swap version of the deck. A slow monster that relies on being destroy by battle to trigger it's effect. Not worth running over the better Evoltile monsters, especially over Westlo.
- Evoltile Lagosuchus :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 3
ATK : 1200 / DEF : 500
Effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. When this card is flipped face-up: You can Special Summon 1 "Evoltile" monster from your Deck.
It's the newest member of the Evoltile family and one that contradicts how the other Evoltile monsters work. The first effect is a 'Foolish Burial' for Evolsaur monsters, good for sending Vulcano targets I guess. The 2nd is Westlo-like effect, but works with Evoltile monsters rather than Evolsaur. Mixed feelings about this one, the first combo that pops up is this into Gephyro to get that sent that Evolsaur on the field ? Doesn't seem good for now at least.
- Evoltile Najasho :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 2
ATK : 100 / DEF : 2000
Effect:
If this card on the field is Tributed: You can Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck.
A god sent card for the archetype. This one gives Westlo a run for it's money when it comes to the best Evoltile monster ! This one works in so many ways (Evo-Force, Evo-Instant, Enemy Controller) that it's an automatic 2/3 in Evol decks. Plus the fact that it's an 'If..' effect makes it so the card NEVER misses timing.
- Evoltile Odonto :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 2
ATK : 500 / DEF : 1200
Effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your hand.
This card here act like the "Marauding Captain" of the deck as it gives you the possibility to bring any Evolsaur to the field when it's normal summoned. It may be the 2nd best Evoltile, right behind Westlo, and I see no reason to not run 3 of this one.
- Evoltile Pleuro :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 1
ATK : 200 / DEF : 200
Effect:
If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster (from your hand).
This card isn't really that good. Like Gephyro it relies on the card being destroyed and is slow. The fact that Odonto exists render this card worse than it's originally. No point in running it over the other, superior, Evoltile monsters. Unless it's a swap version of the deck (swap: Creature Swap).
- Evoltile Westlo :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 3
ATK : 700 / DEF : 1900
Effect:
FLIP: Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck.
The best Evoltile monster there is ! It is the archetype's "Gravekeeper's Spy" & with 1900 DEF, it can survive some assaults & still give you a summon. Run 3 of this, no questions asked.
I.2.) Evolsaur :
Evolsaur are a series of Dinosaur-Type monsters who gain effects when summoned via the Evoltiles.
So far, 7 of them exist :
- Evolsaur Cerato :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 4
ATK : 1900 / DEF : 1400
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: It gains 200 ATK. If this card was Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster, each time this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can add 1 "Evoltile" monster from your Deck to your hand.
A very good monster on it's own, this card becomes even better when it gains it's effect. A 2100 beater which can search any evoltile when it destroys opposing monster by battle ? Yes, please ! Run 3 of this & don't look back.
- Evolsaur Darwinos :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level :5
ATK : 2200 / DEF : 700
Other than the pun on it's name (DARWINos ? Get it?), it's an interesting addition to say the least! It's not level 4, bor level 6 like the other Evolsaur, but rather LV5. It seems versatile enough and can do some tricks : Throw the opponent's strategy away by messing with their monsters' levels, combine with a LV3 Evoltile or a LV4 Evolsaur for a rank 5 and finally can make rank 6 (Solda) using two of this or combined with Elias for example. Still needs testing to see it's true value.
- Evolsaur Diplo :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 4
ATK : 1600 / DEF : 800
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: Target 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy that target.
A decent monster who can act as a spell/trap removal. It's effect is quite nice, but since you'll be maining some MSTs, this card loses some of its utility. Running 2 is best.
- Evolsaur Elias :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 6
ATK : 100 / DEF : 2400
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: You can Special Summon 1 Level 6 or lower FIRE Dinosaur-Type monster from your hand.
One of the 2 level 6 Evolsaurs (the other being Terias), this card has mediocre attack (100) and great defense (2400). It has a good enough effect that lets you get a free summon and has good enough combos to make a rank 6 ! It's level makes it somewhat hard to incorporate in every build so run 0 in most, 2 in decks that use Solda.
- Evolsaur Pelta :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 4
ATK : 1100 / DEF : 2000
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: It gains 500 DEF. If this card was Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster, then is destroyed by battle: You can add 1 "Evoltile" monster from your Deck to your hand.
Not a bad card by any means, as it can make a solid wall when summoned. However, the fact that it needs to be destroyed by battle reduces its utility. With 2500 DEF (when SS by an Evoltile's effect), it's foolish to summon it in ATK mode, not to mention a lot of monsters won't be able to run over it. Use 0-1, or more if you're running Creature Swap.
- Evolsaur Terias :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 6
ATK : 2400 / DEF : 600
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: This card loses 500 ATK.
The other level 6, and quite frankly, a very terrible card. This is the only Evolsaur that gains a negative effect when special summoned ! Avoid this card and run 0 in all your builds, it's THAT bad. If you insist on running a Rank 6 variant, just use Elias which is a LOT better than this card.
- Evolsaur Vulcano :
Type : Dinosaur / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Level : 4
ATK : 1200 / DEF : 1000
Effect:
When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster: You can target 1 "Evolsaur" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. It cannot declare an attack.
Another great Evolsaur ! This one gives you an instant 1 when it's summoned through an evoltile monster and offers you the possibility to get an easy Laggia. No complaints here, run 2 or even 3 of this one.
I.3.) Evolzar :
They're the dragons XYZ monsters you can summon using your Evolsaur monsters.
- Evolzar Dolkka :
Type : Dragon / XYZ / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Rank : 4
ATK : 2300 / DEF : 1700
Effect:
2 Level 4 Dinosaur-Type monsters
When an Effect Monster's effect activates: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation and destroy it.
The 1st Evolzar we will talk about. This one isn't bad by any strecth, in fact it's a 2300 two-times Divine Wrath ! This monster, while inferior to Laggia, can be quite the game saver & stops a lot of effects like Ryko, Sangan, Gorz, Honest.... In my opinion, you should run 2 of this at least.
- Evolzar Laggia :
Type : Dragon / XYZ / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Rank : 4
ATK : 2400 / DEF : 2000
Effect:
2 Level 4 Dinosaur-Type monsters
When a monster(s) would be Normal or Special Summoned, OR a Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; negate the Summon or activation, and destroy that card.
The best monster of the whole archetype ! This card is arguably one of the top, if not the best, XYZ monsters there are currently. A 2400 ATK Solemn Judgment/Warning can pretty much control the opponent a lock him good. We've all seen how good this card is ("Dino Rescue") & how it can change the game when it's dropped on the field. Run 3 of this.
- Evolzar Solda :
Type : Dragon / XYZ / Effect
Attribute : Fire
Rank : 6
ATK : 2600 / DEF : 1000
Effect:
2 Level 6 Dinosaur-Type monsters
While this card has Xyz Materials, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects. When your opponent Special Summons a monster: You can detach an Xyz Material from this card; destroy that monster.
This card would be very good if it was Rank 4. Unfortunately, it isn't, so it may lose some of its playability. While this card has XYZ materials, it is virtually undestructible (except by battle) & can destroy (not negate) an opponent's special summoned monster. Run 0, or 1 in decks that run Elias/Terias.
II.) The Support :
- Spoiler:
- After seeing the monster part of the archetype, you'll need some support in form of spells & traps. Here is the list of direct support they receive.
II.1.) The spells :
- Compensation of Evolution :
Type : Spell / Continuous
Effect:
Once per turn, if a monster is Special Summoned by an "Evoltile" monster: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy that target.
The jury is still not sure about this one. Seems nice at first glance as it turns your summon shenningans into destruction effects. You spam the field with Evolsaurs then pop a card per turn (it could've been better without the once per turn restriction, but I guess that makes it balanced). The nice thing is the fact that it's optional so you don't have to destroy a card if your opponent has an empty field. The bad thing is that continous spells aren't what's hot in the game right now and can end up destroyed faster than you can profit from it. Worth a test or two nonetheless.
- Evo-Force :
Type : Spell /Normal
Effect:
Tribute 1 "Evoltile" monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck. That monster Special Summoned by this card's effect is treated as if it was Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster.
Sweet, very sweet card ! If you've used your Odonto andor Westlo effect and don't want to let the monster sit there with no purpose, use this and get another Evolsaur. Can also combine with Najasho for a quick Rank 4 or even 2 if you get out 2 Vulcano ! A must have in Evol decks, and one that can be played at 3 with no problems !
- Evo-Karma :
Type : Spell / Continuous
Effect:
When a monster(s) is Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster you control, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects.
Another continuous spell that makes up for a 'safe' Evolsaur spam as your dinos won't fear cards like Bottomless Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute, Veiler...etc. However, due to space and better cards available, this one won't see much play. Test 2 of this if you're not certain about it.
- Evo-Miracle :
Type : Spell /Quick-Play
Effect:
Target 1 monster that was Special Summoned by the effect of an "Evoltile" monster; this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects.
Nice card that can be compared with Forbidden Lance and make your Evolsaurs immune from destruction for 1 turn. However it doesn't have the versatility of the latter and your Evolsaurs will most likely be used for XYZing to really profit from it. I still prefer Lance over this, but woth a spot or 2 if you can.
- Primordial Soup :
Type : Spell / Continuous
Effect:
Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can shuffle up to 2 "Evolsaur" monsters from your hand to your Deck; draw the same amount of cards. You can only control 1 "Primordial Soup".
Can act like the theme's Card Trader. It may very well be the least good support spell they have right now, it can recycle the Evolsaurs you don't want in the hand, but seems inferior to the other spells. Run 0 or 1-2. My current preference is none.
- Varied Evolution :
Type : Spell / Normal
Effect:
Add 1 "Evoltile" or "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Varied Evolution" per turn.
How nice ! This card is something Evols needed and a card that will really boost their consistency. The fact that it has no restriction on what it can grab make this an automatic 3in Evol decks and will replace Fossil Dig in the lineup since it grabs both Reptiles and Dinosaurs. That's just a fantastic card for the archetype.
II.2.) The traps :
- Degen-Force :
Type : Trap /Normal
Effect:
Tribute 1 Level 4 or higher Dinosaur-Type monster you control; Special Summon 2 Level 3 or lower Reptile-Type monster (from your hand or Graveyard).
Good enough effect, would have been better if it wasn't for the fact that you can't use it during the damage step. Not a 'direct' support card, but from the artwork & effect, it's pretty clear it was made for the archetype. Like the other two traps, it goes well with Pleuros & Gephyro. Run 0 or 1 as there are lots of traps that surpass this one.
- Evo-Branch :
Type : Trap /Normal
Effect:
Target 1 Reptile-Type monster you control; destroy it, and Special Summon 1 "Evoltile" monster from your Deck in face-down Defense Position.
Good to use to bring another Westlo, it also can combo well with Pleuros as it lets you gets its effect since it destroys it. Run 0-2 of this, may not seem necessary but may be worth a try.
- Evo-Instant :
Type : Trap /Normal
Effect:
Tribute 1 Reptile-Type monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Evolsaur" monster from your Deck.
The trap version of Evo-Force. Maybe redundant if you're running the formre, but it's chainable and can save one of your Evoltile from destruction and turn it into an Evolsaur. 1-2 copies should be good if you have space.
- Evolutionary Bridge :
Type : Trap /Normal
Effect:
When a monster you control is targeted for an attack: Target 1 "Evoltile" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target, then switch the attack target to that monster and conduct damage calculation.
A versatile card that can act as an attack protector and combo well with Gephyro & Pleuros. If you're using the latter two monsters, you might consider running 2 copies of this or even skip it altogether if you're not playing the 2 monsters mentioned.
II.3.) 'Indirect' support :
- Fossil Dig :
Type : Spell /Normal
Effect:
Add 1 Level 6 or lower Dinosaur-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.
Was really good for the deck until Varied Evolution was made. Now, it pales in comparison to the latter and should only be played if you're also running Jurrac. Otherwise, don't bother unless you want more serch power with can be understood.
- Snake Rain :
Type : Spell /Normal
Effect:
Discard 1 card. Select 4 Reptile-Type monsters from your Deck and send them to the Graveyard.
While this card has its uses in other decks (read Vennominaga), it's not that great here. Maybe you can use it to fuel your grave with Pleuros & Gephyro (to abuse their effects with the traps). Most likely you'll run 0, maybe 1 in certain builds., it might prove to be good.
- Ultra Evolution Pill :
Type : Spell /Normal
Effect:
Tribute 1 Reptile-Type monster on your side of the field. Special Summon 1 Dinosaur-Type monster from your hand.
A very old card that referenced/predicted the archetype ? Who knows. It would have been totally playable if it wasn't for the fact that Compulsory Evolution severly outclasses it. Run 0 of this.
- Damage = Reptile :
Type : Trap / Continuous
Effect:
Once per turn, when you take Battle Damage from a battle involving a Reptile-Type monster, you can Special Summon 1 Reptile-Type monster from your Deck with ATK less than or equal to the Battle Damage you took.
Very situational, doesn't seem that useful. It might let you replace a killed evoltile by another but you have many more options better than this one. Don't use this card.
- Fossil Excavation :
Type : Trap / Continuous
Effect:
Discard 1 card from your hand. Select 1 Dinosaur-Type monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it. An Effect Monster Special Summoned this way has its effect negated. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.
I don't see the use of this card, given the revival ability some Evolsaur/Evoltile have & the fac that you must discard. A bad card you must avoid, it's a worse version of Call of the Haunted. Run 0 copies of it.
- Hunting Instinct :
Type : Trap / Continuous
Effect:
Activate only when a monster is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field. Special Summon 1 Dinosaur-Type monster from your hand.
A 'counter' card that let you special summon any Evolsaur from your hand. However, It doesn't grant you the effects your monsters would normally get. Not very useful here, run 0.
- Offering to the Snake Deity :
Type : Trap / Normal
Effect:
Destroy 1 Reptile-Type monster you control and 2 cards your opponent controls.
A great piece of support here. Gives an utility to your used Evoltiles, transforming them into removal tools. I don't see why you can't run 2 or even 3 copies of this, it's really good.
- Seismic Shockwave :
Type : Trap / Continuous
Effect:
Activate only when a Dinosaur-Type monster on your side of the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Select 3 of your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zones. You cannot select a Zone if a card is already in it. The selected Zones cannot be used. Destroy this card during your 3rd Standby Phase after activation. Then you can return 1 Dinosaur-Type monster from your Graveyard to your hand.
It has potential, but it also have flaws as you need to keep it on the field for 3 turns to get back a dino to your hand. In most cases, you'll not play this card.
- Snake Whistle :
Type : Trap / Normal
Effect:
Activate only when a Reptile-Type monster you control is destroyed. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Reptile-Type monster from your Deck.
Slightly better than Damage = Reptile, but still not good enough to warrant use here. I'd advise to not use it at all. You can try 1 if you find space for it, but this is not the deck that can exploit it the best.
III.) The Techs :
- Spoiler:
- You may also want to tech some of this card to help your monsters into their quest for evolution, so let's begin with monsters :
III.1.) Monster Techs :
- Effect Veiler :
Type : Spellcaster / Effect / Tuner
Attribute : Light
Level : 1
ATK : 0 / DEF : 0
Effect:
During your opponent's Main Phase, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to select 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls. Negate the effect(s) of that monster until the End Phase.
One of the top cards of this format. This little spellcaster can stop important effects from going off & avoid you being hit. Plus the fact that it's a tuner. I'd suggest you at least main 2 of this card.
- Genex Ally Birdman :
Type : Machine / Effect / Tuner
Attribute : Dark
Level : 3
ATK : 1400 / DEF : 400
Effect:
You can return 1 face-up monster you control to the hand to Special Summon this card from your hand, and this card gains 500 ATK if it was a WIND monster you returned. If this card is Special Summoned with this effect, remove it from play when it is removed from the field.
Another tuner, and a great one too ! This bird let's you go into easy level 5, 6 & 7 synchros & also rank 3 . Most importantly, it lets you re-use the effects of monsters like Westlo & Odonto. Main or side 2 of this card here.
- Oshaleon :
Type : Reptile / Effect
Attribute : Water
Level : 3
ATK : 1400 / DEF : 800
Effect:
While you control this face-up card, your opponent cannot select a monster other than "Oshaleon" as an attack target. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Reptile-Type monster with 500 ATK or less from your Deck to your hand.
Another tech worth a try. This card card can protect your monsters from attacks & can search 3 of the 5 Evoltiles. It's a level 3, meaning it can form a rank 3 with Westlo or a Brionac with Birdman. You might want to try & side this.
- The Jurracs :
Since they're also FIRE-Attribute Dinosaurs, the Jurrac can be implemented in the deck. The best one to play, in my opinion, is Jurrac Guaiba. This one lets you have an easy Laggia when it destroys an opposing monster. Jurrac Velo is another decent card, but it needs to be destroyed, and for this it gets outclassed. You may use Jurrac Dino to get some draw power, however it's not a level 4 & can't be used for Laggia / Dolkka.
If you insist on having this engine, I suggest playing 2 copies of Guaiba, especially if you also main Casineria.
- The 'Millers' :
If you want to fill your grave with monsters, you can use milling monsters. The LS engine is decent for this (Ryko or Lyla), as is Card Trooper. Depending on your goal & strategy, you might consider them. If you do, also consider Dandylion since it'll give you 2 free tokens if it gets milled.
- Attack altering cards :
To avoid getting overpowered by stronger monsters, there's always the attack altering method. Cards like Forbidden Lance, Shrink & Burden of the Mighty. My preference goes to the former due to it's versatilty.
- Molten Destruction :
Type : Spell /Field
Effect:
Increases the ATK of all FIRE monsters by 500 points and decreases their DEF by 400 points.
Most field cards aren't good, and this is no exception. It powers up your monsters (Cerato will then run over Monarchs, Stardust & many beatsticks). However, your space should be occupied by more useful spells, so you'll most likely run 0 of this. If you can make a deck exploiting this card, why not ?
- Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai :
Type : Trap / Normal
Effect:
Tribute 1 FIRE monster on your side of the field. Inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the original ATK of the tributed monster.
May act as a game finisher if your opponent is low on LPs. However, you might prefer your tributes to give you a better advantage than this one. I'd consider this as side deck material.
- The Staples :
Your deck also must contain staples. They're those cards that you can play in the majority of decks thanks to their usefulness.
These cards include Monster Reborn, Dark Hole, Heavy Storm, Mystical Space Typhoon, Book of Moon, Pot of Duality, Pot of Avarice, Trap Dustshoot, Solemn Warning, Solemn Judgment, Bottomless Trap Hole, Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, Dimensional Prison, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness & some of the synchs / XYZ (Black Rose Dragon, Wind-Up Zenmaines, Stardust Dragon, Brionac...)....

V.) Conclusion :
- Spoiler:
- In conclusion, Evols are a nice & fun deck that can create nice cominations. While it may not compare to some of the other newer archetypes like Inzektors & Wind-Up, they have potential, if only they get more support. They have one of the best XYZ in the game, but they're not even the best way to summon it (Dino Rescue & even Jurrac can do it better).

Re: Evolution : A guide to the Evol Archetype !
With the new cards coming out I see this deck gaining consistency with that Varied Evolution. I think that card alone will increase the playability of the deck.

Too bad he got beat by those damn Wind-Up.
I'd like to see the decklist to be honest, gues we'll have to wait until the end of the YCS to have a chance to see it ?

Re: Evolution : A guide to the Evol Archetype !
Thanks for your post. I haven't updated my Evol deck since GOAV's release. I'll do so, but only Varied Evolution will be included.
Compensation of Evolution will go to the side deck, at least for now.
I'll PM on DN if you want some games

Eh. K.
Your best way to access Big Eye is off an Evo-Force + Evoltile Najasho.
I'd say -1 Diplo / +1 Cerato or Vulcano
-3 Upstart / +2 Fiendish Chain & +1 Call of the Haunted

Re: Evolution : A guide to the Evol Archetype !
i'm thinking on a way to call evolzar Laggia and Number 19: Freezerdon in one turn, to get 3 solemns..
but the way that i found is:
1. with two darwinos on graveyeard, use evo-force on najasho to bring vulcano twice times.
but, until you get two darwinos on grave, opponent problably already have, solemns setted, bottomless, and another tips of traps that stops laggia to be called
2. for first turn: set westlo, then pass the turn, if flip is activated, bring darwinos and increase westlo lv by 1 (if still alive, what is not difficult since has 1900 def), next turn, call odonto, and call darwinos from hand, and increase odonto lv by 1
but i doest not like this second way, is very slow, and need a hand very lucky
