Since the damage step flips the monster, it would be face up before battling, I'm pretty sure a battle can't happen between a face down monster... So yeah you'd have a chance to activate the effect.

I don't remember the attack declaration part being there ._.

If so then no cause you'd need to activate it when the attack is declared and not later ....

Guys. It's the same condition as Catastor. You don't get the effect because it would activate on attack declaration, which is before the monster is flipped.

If you said that Catastor's effect activates at attack declaration, there will be battle replay and Catastor can kill all monsters on opponent's field and a possible direct attack after that.

I think the main issue here is that in the Dueling network his effect is.

So, this would mean it'd be like catastor.

However in the Wiki it says.

At attack declaration, when this card battles an opponent's monster: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; halve that monster's ATK, and this card gains ATK equal to the same amount.

So which is right?

but D.D. warrior lady and Ally of Justice Unknown crusher say "When this card battles" as well and both their effects activate at the same time as flip effects when battling a face down monster...

Since it doesn't say when it can activate nor does it say "when this card declares an attack" like Utopia I think it's safe to assume that it can activate it's effect that changes his own attack in damage step. Unless some OCG Ruling states otherwise
