daigusto sphreeze ruling
hello guys
so i was dueling with a friend of mine and i was playing with gustos
i had summoned daigusto sphreeze the effect is:
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can add 1 "Gusto" card from your Graveyard to the hand. Your opponent takes all Battle Damage you would take from battles involving "Gusto" monsters you control. This card cannot be destroyed by battle.
and my friend has prime material dragon its effect is:
Any effect that would inflict damage to a player instead increases their Life Points by the same amount.
so if i attack with daigusto sphreeze to a stronger monster is it considered effect damage or battle damage as the effect of daigusto sphreeze says?
thx

Re: daigusto sphreeze ruling
If your sphreeze attacks a higher ATK monster and your opponent controls Prime Material , then he/she will gain Lifepoints because it is due to an effect that your opponent takes damage.

Re: daigusto sphreeze ruling
check amazonswordswoman rulings
the texts of both cards about this effect is the same
Damage inflicted to the opponent when "Amazoness Swordswoman"'s [sic] effect is activated is Battle Damage, so the opponent cannot use "Barrel Behind the Door".[1]
the texts of both cards about this effect is the same
When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can add 1 "Gusto" card from your Graveyard to your hand. Your opponent takes all Battle Damage you would take from battles involving "Gusto" monsters you control. This card cannot be destroyed by battle.
Your opponent takes all Battle Damage that you would have taken from a battle involving this card.

Re: daigusto sphreeze ruling
Yup, raidou is right
think of the effect as redirecting battle damage.
