Monster Gate and sangan.
Which event happens first to i do the sangan search or resolve monster gate?
What I'm thinking is monster gate is chain 1 and sangan is chain 2 which in that case i would search first before monster gate.
So is it Chain 1 Monster Gate
Chain 2 Sangan ?

It sort of works like this:
Monster Gate resolves, you ditch your deck until you get a monster you can SS.
Sangan goes all furby and you search.

Re: Monster Gate and sangan.
You do not chain SS1 monster effect to anything except under SEGOC.
If you tribute sangan for monster gate, first you resolve monster gate. Afterwards sangan mandatory trigger effect starts a new chain.

Re: Monster Gate and sangan.
Monster Gate tributes as the cost. For situations of this sort where a monster requires to be placed in grave for its effect to activate:
Mandatory effects will activate in a separate Chain.
Optional effects will miss their timing and not activate at all since they are not the last thing to happen. (Costs are paid before the effects and the last thing to happen here is Gate's effect resolving.)
EDIT:
Miror B. is correct. "If" and "can" together do not miss timing. "When" and "can" together miss timing.

Incorrect as most Scraps are optional effects and do not miss timing in any circumstances.Shinichi K. wrote:Optional effects will miss their timing and not activate at all since they are not the last thing to happen. It's the effects that say "When [insert condition here] you can [insert action here]" that miss the timing.

No. "Monster Gate" resolves, then "Sangan" forms a new chain after that. Haven't you been reading the detailed explanations above?
