Xyz and Synchro at the same time

i just had this crazy idea. can you use two monsters of the same level as synchro materials AND xyz materials at the same time? therefore resulting in a synchro monster, an xyz monster, and the materials under the xyz monster instead of in the graveyard. this is probably not allowed, but i just want to see if it is allowed or not.

Nope, you can't summon one monster while another monster is summoned at the same time.

but they're both counted as special summons, and i know of cards that allow you to special summon multiple monsters at the same time. what makes this any different, besides the fact that it would be broken as hell?

thats a logical fallacy, how can you syncro summon which requires you to send monsters to the graveyard, and xyz summon which requires them to..well...not go to the graveyard

No, you still can't do that 'cuz you have declared an action, and you can't declare 2 actions in the same time.

in the same turn? Sure, u can. if u have the material to Xyz and Synchro
e.g.: Firedog + magician (both Lv 4), Xyz into Pearl. activate, "Xyz Gift", draw 2. then activate "Rekindling", synchro to any Lv 8 Synchro

can you post it here when you're done? i'm interested to see what you come up with. I made a couple of cards myself, but they're very, very broken.

Eh, I tried. I was going to create Quantum monsters as a Secondary Type for Effect monsters, but I couldn't make the wording clear enough. Basically, Quantum monsters hold multiple conflicting properties until they interact with other cards, whereupon they Collapse to definite one-or-the-other. For example, they might be in both Attack and Defense Position, then a player activates "Hammer Shot" and it forces the monster to be in Attack Position only, so it can be destroyed. Any other, unrelated properties are chosen by the player at that time (e.g. whether it has 500 ATK or 500 DEF). If the monster's Position, etc. changes later, it goes back to being Uncertain (has every property).

This is largely based on the ideas behind Quantum Physics, and there would be Spells such as "Entanglement" that can force Quantum monsters to Collapse to opposite states, etc. Also, each Quantum monster has a unique effect that activates when it Collapses or is Uncertain.

wow, that's really interesting. i don't have much of an imagination, so i probably wouldn't be able to think of something cool and interesting like that.

quantum -_-. why not throw in relativity into the mix too. we have proper time, proper length etc. some random card has some effect related to proper time where the two events XYZ and Synchro are somehow related due to the card effect. card maybe says something like the elapsed time is short enough that one event influences the other so the opponent cannot respond to either event.

I'll work on that later, once people have gotten their heads around the Quantum idea.
