Flood Control with Editing
I'm just curious if this can be taken off. I understand the need for Flood Control in general, we don't need the same person spamming a dozen posts in a row. That's completely understandable. What I don't get is when we edit a post why we have to wait 30 seconds to do it.
The edited post does not count as a new one so it's not really hurting anyone. 30 seconds is not long to wait, but just a little annoying.

That happens for you? Not me. That's funky.

Yes. I would assume because you're under the Moderator mask that it has been removed for you, seeing as how you're a more trusted source on the forum and are less likely to post, or spam very frequently.Miley Syrus + wrote:That happens for you? Not me. That's funky.

A Staff member is not affected by the 30 second rule.
I agree it's quite annoying if you're editing, otherwise I'm fine with it

We will only consider the editing.
The 30 seconds between posts apply to most other forums I've been to.

That is what I meant. Taking the 30 seconds off the normal would be bad.Key wrote:vantagesp wrote:I will bring it to Det's attention.YamiBakura wrote:Yea, as I suspected. Could we have it taken off?

Re: Flood Control with Editing
To be honest taking it off normal posting wouldn't be all that bad either. Worst case scenario is someone signs up and spams a dozen posts on the forum in two minutes before he's reported and banned. You have to think, if anyone wanted to they could come here with flood control enabled or not and do the same thing. Flood control would only get him caught a few posts sooner. If it were to spiral out of control and you had let's say 25 people a day joining just to spam a lot then it would obviously be time to enable flood control again.
But yes, I did originally mean just for editing.

Re: Flood Control with Editing
Flood control for normal posting will not be removed. This is more work for moderators and administrators when spammers do decide they want to spam the forum.
I will look into flood control for editing posts. Imo 30 seconds is not very long but I can see how it can annoy members.

Thank you. Yes 30 seconds is not long in general passing of time, but when you want to edit a post because of a spelling error or to add/remove something waiting 30 seconds to do so can be a bit of a hassle.

i support this.
30 secs is enough time for another member to interpret your post differently from what you really meant to say, like a simple "can" vs "can't" typo.

Maybe take it off for members with a certain number of posts?
