FanFic -- Destination: Quarantine

First of all, before I get started.. I'd just like to state that I used to roleplay. I no longer do so because I just can't get into it and I can't find the time to write one to meet a certain deadline. So, I was browsing and seen there was a FanFic section.. now, I don't know if this will get any.. reviews, replies or anything at all but I figured I'd give it a go. So, I hope you enjoy. This is going to be the Pilot if my FanFic takes off. If it doesn't, I have no shame or disappointment in ending this; it'd be something I'd do in my free time. It takes place.. the same time ZeXal does; however, that doesn't mean it's going to completely center around ZeXal. I'm trying to be different with this.. I like dark, twisted things.. we'll see where this goes. Well, it's about time we get started, yeah? I apologize for any.. rockiness or un-categorized.. messiness in this. Italics indicate thoughts too by the way.. you'll notice certain-placed italics throughout and they're thoughts. I won't identify who's thoughts they are; it should be obvious. I'd appreciate, however, if you let me know what you think. I know it's a long read but.. I put a lot of time into it so.. if anybody even takes the time to read it I'd be VERY grateful. If nobody posts or votes, I'll be closing the thing altogether.

Episode Title: The Unfortunate Event-The Quarantine Begins Pt. 1
Episode Description: In the Pilot to "Quarantine Palace" you meet the main protagonist and his closest friend and relative. In this episode, you witness the combination of disease and determination when Minoru tries to locate any source of medication for a fallen loved one. What happens when he finds out he, his friend and loved one aren't the only survivors-the only ones looking for a cure?

● The scene opens up to a pitch-black screen. Screams of pain and terror echo throughout the darkness as feet are heard pounding against a tiled floor, running down what sounds like a long hallway as glass shatters. The footsteps eventually fade.. it is then a bright flash appears and when it fades, we're viewing what seems to be the outside of a Hospital. "Gain Ease Without Your Disease" is read on the front of a faded, white painted wooden sign.. chunks of the sign look to be torn from the top of the sign. The name of the establishment unknown at the moment as smoke begins to creep by, covering the slogan of the Hospital. The usually illuminated big red cross atop the Hospital is dimmed.. slightly slanted and shooting sparks as parts of the grass remain dug up from earlier when the Hospital florists were doing their job. The circular black-topped pavement that leads to the entrance of the Hospital is littered with crashed and smashed cars, some spewing oil as others drip blood from the driver's seat while burning in flames. Suddenly, glass is heard cracking.. then a smash is heard as one of the cars on the pavement has it's windshield kicked out. After the windshield falls to the ground, landing on top of a John Doe's hand, a gloved hand is seen grasping the outer-frame of the vehicle.. right here the windshield had been previously. Emerging up from the damaged vehicle is obviously an injured person. Pulling himself up from the wreckage, he groans while inhaling frantically as he collapses onto his hands and knees on top of the dented hood after climbing out. We only see his hands and legs.. the character at the moment is still unknown. We can see his black pants ripped slightly at the ankle and his black shoes in tact while blood runs down his forearm. As he breathes heavily, trying to catch his breath we see a drop of blood fall onto the hood of the vehicle as well. There must be a cut on his head somewhere as well. A ripping sound is heard as we still have a cropped shot of his hands and legs while he adjusts himself into a more comfortable position, onto his bottom while the camera slowly pans up, revealing the shirt he's wearing as well as blood running down his elbow as well.. the source of the cut must be on his bicep. A short-sleeved black shirt is revealed while he continues to inhale frantically, trying to catch his breath and trying to get it to go a steady rate.. out of his pocket falls a crushed inhaler. As the camera pans up more, he grasps his left sleeve with his right arm and continues tearing at it, finally ripping it off into a cotton-fabric-like strap. After all, the shirt is made of cotton. He takes his right arm and wraps the strap around the wound; bending his neck down so his mouth is level with the strap-biting onto it while tucking the other end of the sleeve into the wrapped-around portion creating a gauze-like band around his wound. His hand then lands on top of his inhaler.. without even picking it up to look at it, he swipes it off the hood of the car. As he stands up on top of the hood and jumps down, his face is revealed.. somewhat. His arm dangles at his side as his messy, straight hair covers his face.. to an extent. This man resembles Leon S. Kennedy.. while turning to the side and taking a few steps towards the back-seat doors while lifting his head up, he gasps; witnessing the destruction around him as he finally catches his breath.
Unknown Character: Oh no... Wh-what happened? ..MOM!
● He stops paying attention to the fires and dead bodies laid out all over the property and opens up the passenger door instead of the back-doors to see his mom laying face-down into the dashboard.. blood streaming down the side of her head. Grunting and lifting his injured arm, he grabs a hold of his mom's shoulders and pushes her back, her head slinging back as her neck bends back over the head of the seat.. her eyes are closed. Falling down onto one knee, holding his mom's hand.. resting his forehead on it and holding back tears, he groans quietly just before suddenly stopping.. realizing something as he holds her hand. He doesn't feel a pulse.. his breathing then begins to go out of control, he tries to stay calm but.. it's no use. "She doesn't seem to be breathing.. is.. she.. no, she can't be. It's mom, she's strong-she has to be o-" Quiet grunting is heard coming from another location in the vehicle, the backseat. Lifting up his head quickly, interrupting his thought process, he quickly tries to open up the back-door, causing his friend in the back to scream out in pain as she tries to remember where she is and as she tries to remember the events leading up to this disaster as our male character forces himself to control his breathing.
Unknown Character: I'm sorry! My mom i-
Unknown Friend: It's.. stuck-the door.. it's caving into my side.
Unknown Character: My mom is dead..
● He stands there with his injured arm hanging, the blood beginning to dry onto his flesh as he takes his other hand and places it inside the rolled-down windows gap, pulling the door towards himself with all of his power as it slowly begins to exit the ribs of his friend. She screams out in pain as a rigged edge slides out of her shirt, tearing it in the process. His friend then grabs a hold of his hand and releases it from the door, pointing to his mom.. trying to speak while choking on her words;
Unknown Friend: Te-tend to h-her.. it's more import-... ant. I'll be fine.
● Letting go of the door, his friend lays in the backseat, pulling her feet back towards herself before springing them forward, kicking the door so hard it falls off it's hinges and falls onto the ground as our male character proceeds back to his mom's side. He places his hands on her shoulders and begins to pull her towards himself, trying to get her to rollover onto his shoulder so he can at least try to manage to save her from the wreckage. Forcing all of the strength from his injured arm, he's able to turn his mom's upper-body sideways so it's facing himself. His friend exits the backseat and limps to his side, looking down.. noticing a portion of the dash has impaled his mother's stomach. She points down and instinctively, our main protagonist looks down.. seeing his mother's stomach impaled.. tears begin to stream down his face as he places his hand on her wound.. trying to feel how deep the dash has entered his mom's stomach.
Unknown Character: Why did this happen to her Megumi? ...Why her?
Megumi: ...I don't.. I don't know.
● Megumi, his friend, lowers her hand and places it on top of his.. lifting his up and placing it onto the side of his mom's seat.
Megumi: Come on.. try to push her seat back and I'll do my best to bend the part that went into her, towards the windshield and we might b-
● Before letting her finish, our male character has already started pushing back on his mom's seat, trying to force it from it's hinges in order to push it back-giving Megumi enough space to bend the sharp point upwards, removing the threat of it entering somebody else. Grinding his teeth, grunting while pushing back as hard as he can.. Megumi lets out a groan, pulling back as hard as she can; unable to pull the broken dash from the mom's stomach.
Megumi: I.... CAN'T... I'M NOT STRONG ENOUGH MINORU!
● Finally.. he has a name. Minoru screams, feeling his muscles pull and constrict, tightening up.. it appears he's reached his limits in strength.
Minoru: JUST HELP ME PUSH!
● Releasing her grasp from the broken dash, Megumi places her hands on top of Minoru's and presses back as hard as she can.. together, they're finally able to break the springs underneath of the seat, sending it shooting into the backseat with his mom in place with her upper-body still facing sideways. Minoru quickly grabs a hold of his mom's hands and pulls her-what seems to be-lifeless body towards himself and places her upon his shoulder, blood pouring from her deep stomach gash, onto his shoulder as he gently lays her down on the ground; smoke still filling the air from the fires surrounding them on the other vehicles. After laying his mom onto her back, on the ground, Minoru takes one hand and presses down on his mother's wound, trying to stop the bleeding while taking his other hand and feeling for a pulse.
Minoru: MEGUMI, GO! LOOK FOR SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP!
Megumi: OKAY! WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING?
Minoru: WE'RE AT A HOSPITAL! I'M SURE YOU'll FIND SOMETHING; GO!
● Megumi takes off running, leaving Minoru to tend to his mom. Pressing down on her wound doesn't seem to be doing any good... there still isn't a pulse. Minoru then removes his hand from his mother's wound, then places one hand on her nose, closing it and he places his mouth upon her and begins to breathe into her mouth; trying to give her some air. After breathing into her mouth, he presses both of his palms down onto her chest and presses down hard, doing his best to apply CPR to restore some sort of life in his mom as a quiet inhale comes from his mom. Minoru freezes.. in disbelief.. "She's.. SHE'S OKAY!? THANK YOU GOD! SHE'S OKAY!?" He continues pressing down onto her chest hard before her hand lifts from the ground, finding it's way onto Minoru's, grasping it tight while removing it from her chest.
-MEANWHILE-
● Megumi is running around a crowded parking lot, full of destroyed cars until she finally stumbles upon an ambulance. The back of it's open.. it looks the the ramp was down too.. there's a stretcher laying underneath it with a body on it covered in a white tarp; bloodstained. Being as squeamish as she is, Megumi is reluctant to continue her journey but.. she must do it for Minoru. She continues on her way and approaches the stretcher.. spreading her legs over it so she doesn't have to touch it while leaning forward, peering into the back of the ambulance. Her eyes end up laying upon a First-Aid Kit.. this may help. She steps over the body and steps onto the platform that leads down into the ramp and she grabs onto the hinges of the door, pulling herself into the back of the ambulance and squatting down in front of the kit, opening it to reveal nothing inside. She sits down and crosses her legs, sighing while looking around the rest of the ambulance, trying to find something; anything that might help. She notices a map hanging on the wall.. it's a layout of the Hospital. She examines it and notices there's a room on the map labeled "M.S.S." and underneath that in smaller print it reads "Medical Supplies Storage." She grabs the map and slowly peels it from the interior of the ambulance, trying not to rip it. This could be a very important piece. As she tries to pry it from the wall, a noise is heard. There's.. what sounds like footsteps approaching. "Minoru and I are the only ones here though.. Minoru's with hi- SHE MUST BE OKAY! THAT'S GREAT!" Megumi turns her head and is about to speak, thinking Minoru has brought his mom to see Megumi, letting her know everything's not as bad when it seems. When she turns, she sees a figure standing at the entrance of the back of the ambulance. The face is distorted.. high cheek bones, highly visible.. portions of the skin are missing and bones along with raw flesh are being displayed. Dried blood remains on the face but the eyes.. the teeth.. they're not quite right. The teeth are rotten, yellow and chipped.. and the eyes, the eyes are badly bloodshot and the color is distorted.. it fades from a dark brown to a light yellow. This figure has the.. same.. bloodstained sheet hanging off of it's shoulder, it's arms slightly lifted.. the forearms arched and fingers extended slightly.. the arms aren't extended outwards but rather at it's side with the forearms extended up with the wrists and hands dangling.. the fingers extended slightly though. The clothes are ripped.. it slowly begins to groan and walk up the ramp slowly. Megumi then lets out a shriek of terror and curls up against the back wall; located behind the driver seats of the ambulance. She curls her legs up into her chest as this creature gets closer. She kicks her legs out and kicks this creature in it's shins simultaneously, dropping it face-first into the floor. If lifts its face from the floor.. it's nose cracking; tempted to fall off as a tooth falls out. Megumi reaches behind her and feels a bar on the wall-it must be something for a Paramedic to hold on to.. she grabs it and pries it from the wall as the creature reaches for her foot; she tosses the object forward and sends it flying into this.. monsters head. It enters through the forehead and exits through the back of the skull, the monsters head falling face-first into the floor again.. forcing the bar-like object to fully penetrate it's head. She stares down at it, shaking in fear while reaching up for the map.. not taking her eyes off of it. "What.. is that? Zombies aren't real.. that's not, it can't be.. he was dead. I... I have to get back to Minoru." Finally, Megumi's able to pull the map off of the wall successfully and she cautiously crawls over the dead creature, crawling down the exit-ramp on her hands and knees before getting onto her feet and running in the direction she first came, returning to Minoru.
-BACK WITH MINORU-
Minoru's Mother: Oh Minoru, it hurts... I don't think I'm going to make it.
Minoru: No, mom.. you're going to. Everything's going to be okay, I promise. I won't let anything bad happen to you.
Minoru's Mother: If the Lord says it's my time to go.. it's my time.
Minoru: It's not your time! I know it's not! You're going to be okay, I promise.. I almost lost you once, I'm not going to lose you again.
● A voice is heard in the distance.. it's a female screaming, she's getting closer. Footsteps are heard getting closer and closer as Minoru tries to convince his mother of her safety.
Megumi: MINORU! MINORU! I HAVE A MAP!
● Minoru turns his head back and sees Megumi running up to him, one arm high in the air, waving the map around. She approaches him with it and hands it to him. He looks down at it and inspects it.. shaking his head before looking up at Megumi again. Before he can speak, Megumi looks down at his mom and grins from ear-to-ear.
Megumi: MISS STARWIND! YOU'RE OKAY! I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!
Minoru's Mother: Megumi.. hi, I'm.. hanging in there. Glad you're okay too.
Minoru: I hate to interrupt but how's a map going to help exactly? I don't g-Megumi, a piece of paper.. with the layout of the Hospital on it isn't going to help us. Are you crazy? A piece of paper isn't going to heal my mom.. we need a doctor, we need some real help; not this..
Megumi: ..I saw a First-Aid Kit but it was empty.. I saw a map and I would've been back sooner but something happened. I'm sorry.
Minoru: What happened?
Megumi: ...I think, I ran into.. a.. a zombie...
Minoru: WHAT!? You're delusional! Zombies aren't real and this crap piece of paper isn't going to help; look, I understand you're not in the right state of mind and I understand you're worried, so am I but you-
Minoru's Mother: Son.. this is no time.. to do this.
● Minoru sighs and nods.. accepting what his mother said.
Minoru: Okay. Megumi.. I'm sorry. I'm.. so, I assume you're expecting we go inside the Hospital?
Megumi: Yeah.. there's a Medial Supplies Storage room on there.. it's a little deep inside of the Hospital but I'm sure there's something in there that could help; that's if there isn't a doctor in there that could help already.
Minoru: Okay, we'll give it a try.. but you can't go. I have to go in alone.
Megumi: WHAT? WHY? WE CAN GO WI-
Minoru: You can't.. Megumi, you can't. I can't take mom in there.. who in the world knows what happened here? Look around, there's fires.. there's accidents galore, there's.. it's not safe. You said you.. encountered a zombie? I.. it's like we're in a Zombie Apocalypse movie.. zombies aren't real though.
Megumi: I didn't want to believe it either but whatever I encountered back there, it wasn't alive.. parts of it's face were missing, it's eyes weren't normal. They were.. yellow and brown and.. it's clothes were ripped; I don't know what they were but.. stereotypically, that's what they go by when they look like that, right?
Minoru: ..Did it speak?
Megumi: Speak what? The language of the undead? Unless you consider moans and groans speaking, no.. it didn't.
Minoru: ...Then you're definitely not going into the Hospital.
Megumi: What am I going to do then? You can't go in by yourself, you're hurt and..-
Minoru: I have the map, I can take care of myself. You need to stay here with mom and keep watch over her and keep her company, keep her safe. If anymore of those things show up.. you need to be able to protect her. You took one out, I'm sure you can handle one more if it were to show up. There's debris all over the place.. if you have to, pull a MacGyver and.. use whatever you have to. Me, if I go.. in there alone, I might encounter some of those things too and who knows.. if this is what we don't want it to be, some kind of.. hostile.. apocalyptic take-over, I need to go in there alone. Whatever's going on here.. the Hospital is the source. It's also the source of what we need to get for my mom, so you're not going in.. it's too dangerous. I have to go in on my own.
Megumi: ...Fine. How do you even know that's the source though?
Minoru: Really? Megumi, it's the Hospital. Whatever happened to cause all of this, happened inside of there. That's where they work on the sick, the diseased right? Isn't that the point of the Hospital? To cure the severly sick? If what you said is true.. if there's some kind of undead things running around.. it all started in there. Mom's obviously not in the best condition and I'm worried about how Kenatsu's doing.. I don't need to worry about my bestfriend too. Now, help me lean her up against the side of the car..
● Minoru and Megumi then place their arms underneath Miss Starwind's armpits and they ease her onto her bottom, resting her against the side of the vehicle. Minoru looks into Megumi's eyes and nods before getting up onto his feet and walking around to the driver's side of the vehicle. He reaches into the car and pulls the keys from the ignition before proceeding to the trunk. He then places the key inside the slot and turns it, popping the trunk. Inside is his Battle City modeled Duel Disk. He grabs a hold of it as well as his deck and he inserts the deck into his Duel Disk before strapping it onto his arm. He then closes the trunk and walks over to his mom, bending over and kissing her on the head while holding her hand. He slowly releases it before turning around and heading towards the Hospital.
Megumi: Wh-why are you taking that thing with you? You haven't dueled in years.. that's why we came here in the first place; remember?
Minoru: I know.. it was for charity.
Megumi: You're supposed to be giving it away.. along with your deck. You know he's not doing so well, which was the point.. people coming here to donate unwanted items for the sickened children..
Minoru: ..I'll just drop it off while I'm in there. I'll go to his room and.. place it in the bin. According to the map, his room is just down the hall from the M.S.S. so making a short stop there won't damage the time any. He's the reason we came here so I might as well.. finish what I was going to do.
Minoru's Mother: If.. he's.. safe, bring him back with you. If you see him, tell him I love him and I can't wait to see him. If... worst comes to worst, if I'm not able to make it much longer tell him I died in the accident.
Minoru: You're going to be okay mom, you're not going to die.. he will be too. I know there's no cure for his problem now, but there will be.. we'll take him somewhere new, a new Hospital that'll be able to help.
Minoru's Mother: Just please.. if you see your brother in there.. take care of him. Don't let anything bad hap-
Minoru: NOTHING bad is going to happen. I know.. dad died from it; I know he died because of cancer.. I know there's no cure and I know things aren't looking so good for Kenatsu because of.. all of this but he'll be fine.
Minoru's Mother: He was in a coma last time we were notified about his condition..
● Without responding to his mom, Minoru hangs his head and starts off into the distance, towards the entrance to the beaten Hospital. As we see Minoru leaving the scene of the accident, into the distance towards the demolished Hospital, Megumi removes an article of clothing.. her jacket and presses it down onto Miss Starwind's wound. Minoru approaches the steps that lead up to the entrance.. cautiously, he walks up the steps before grabbing a hold of the doorhandle. He pulls on it.. but there's not a budge. Irritated, he releases his grip and looks beside the door, noticing a window. He walks over to the window and cusps his hand around his eyes, resting them against the glass; peering into the Hospital. Right now it seems to be abandoned. Minoru then lowers his hands to his side, his disk scraping against the chipped paint on the wood before he walks down the steps and unfolds the map; examining the area as he tries to find out another entrance. As he examines the map for an entrance, he hears a crash come from behind-suddenly, he turns around to see a black figure standing in the window. It's facing towards Minoru.. the awkwardly held arms.. this things head tilted to the side.. slowly, this.. whatever it is, turns to it's side and starts dragging one of it's legs, limping away. "Could this be one of those things Megumi was talking about? A.. zombie? Hmm.." Minoru watches the figure exit his vision, into the side of the window frame before he starts walking to his right, approaching the right side of the building before turning and heading down that same way. He looks down at the map as he continues to walk down the side of the building when he finally stumbles upon a few boxes stacked on top of each other. Coincidentally, they happened to be placed underneath a window. The window's broken.. not entirely, it's cracked.. he'll have to bust the rest of it in order to enter. Without hesitation, Minoru walks over to the boxes and climbs up the first one, placing his good hand on the window and pressing it; feeling how fragile it is. He then turns his arm to the side, letting a sharp edge of his duel-disk face the window. He smashes his disk against the window, breaking the rest of it in the process. Then, he steps onto the top box and looks inside of the window.. it leads to a boiler room. It looks like a 5 foot drop.. but it leads to a walk-way above the boilers.
Minoru: Well... here we go..
● Minoru places his palms on the bottom-edge of the window. The glass shards almost cutting into his gloves as he feels their points pressing into his skin. He holds his breath and presses down hard, lifting himself up as a little more blood streams from his custom-made strap over his injury. After pressing himself up enough, using all of the strength he can, he places the sole of his foot on-top of the broken edge of the window. He picks up his other leg, squatting in the window frame before climbing down the other side, entering the boiler room. His feet hitting the steel ramp, sending an echo throughout the basement of the Hospital as he raises to his feet and starts walking down this linear walkway. He takes a look at the map, realizing his destinations are two floors above him. After studying the map, Minoru walks down the set of metal-steps he's lead to and turns left. After turning left, he's forced to walk down a destroyed corridor with paint-chipped walls.. dangling lights, flickering off and on with the entrance to the main Hospital just ahead. "The lights are flickering.. there must be some sort of power supply still going on here... maybe there's still hope for Kenastu." Favoring his injured arm, he leaves it dangling at his side as he jogs down the corridor, stepping on broken pieces of the wall that've collapsed and he runs shoulder-first into the door; forcing it to bust open. When it opens, there's a dead body in front of him. It appears to be the body of a dead officer in a pair of black camouflaged army pants, thick black boots, full-hand covering gloves.. a thick black camouflaged shirt with a bulletproof vest over it. It appears as if he was wearing some sort of mask.. the red lines on his face outlining that of some sort of facial mask; indicating he had worn one prior to dying. There's bite marks in his neck.. deep ones, a portion of his neck is ripped clean from it. "This is disgusting.. what in the world is going on in here?" Inside the level of the main floor, there's nothing but dust, dirt, aspestos and bugs.. feeding on the decaying flesh of the deceased officials. Beside the dead officer's body is a gas mask.. with no inhaler and with asthma at it's worst, Minoru reaches down and grabs a hold of the gas mask, putting it on; it's better than nothing. "I'd rather wear this than risk further illness in this place.. things are bad as they are. Right now, Megumi's in the best condition.. she seems to have a twisted ankle but that's about it. I can't risk further infection." After placing the gas mask over his face, he proceeds on; using the map before turning left-just as the map indicates-leading to a staircase that happens to be placed next to an elevator. "..Everybody's dead it seems.. the elevator will be out of order. It's better to take the stairs." After reaching the steps, he runs up them and continues running down the hallway the second he gets onto the floor. He turns to his side, then straightens his back again and continues running straight down the hall-avoiding flipped desks and tables while he races for the set of stairs at the end of the hall that'll lead him to the floor his brother's on. While racing down the hall, Minoru's suddenly struck in the back of the legs and he collapses onto the ground, barely missing the jagged edge of a flipped chair. "AH, WHAT THE F-" He looks up.. seeing a figure standing above him holding a knightstick. Minoru opens his mouth to speak, breathing heavily as he's attacked by asthma from the sudden shock of being attacked.
Minoru: WAIT! WA-WAIT! I'm not one of those.. things! I'm alive, I'm.. officer, stop; please.. I'm in bad health as.. it is. Spa-spare me.
● "Is this guy an officer? He's wearing the same exact uniform as the one that was dead in front of the boiler room doors... except this guy is wearing; WHAT? He has two duel disks? I've never seen any like that before.." The man who struck Minoru grabs his hands and helps him up to his feet. Minoru bends over and places his hands on his knees; trying to catch his breath as the man begins to speak:
Unknown Officer: First of all, I'm not an officer. Second, I don't care who you are but you need to get out of here. There's no reason for you to be here.
● Still trying to catch his breath, Minoru takes a deep breath and exhales obnoxiously, trying to laugh at this man's claim.
Minoru: Ah-..ha. Contrare, whoever.. you are. I ha-have more of a reason to b-be here than you do. My mother, she's out..side and she's-she's injured. She needs help badly. My brother has a room on the next floor, he's dying.. he's- he might be in a coma. He has cancer, I'm going to his room and then... "Oh my gosh, this hurts so bad..." I'm going to M.S.S. for supplies that may be able to help my mom. I ne-need to.. carry on.
● The man places his knightstick into his waist-band and places his hands on his hips. This man seems to be wearing a gas mask as well as Minoru.
Unknown Man: I'm not sure why you're wearing a gas mask.. but whatever; look I don't care what reasons you think you have for being in here. That's no excuse, they're going to die anyway. Everybody's dead.. the only people that aren't.. are me and you. Your mom, your brother.. they're already dead; you just haven't realized it yet. For whatever reason, you need to give it up and accept that they're not coming back. Where they are now, they're not coming back.. to good health. They're going downhill and they're going to die. Other than us, the only people that are alive.. aren't even people. They're zombies.
Minoru: "I'm glad I didn't tell him about Megumi.." I don't believe in fairytales or myths, zombies are as real as Big Foot and the Lochness Monster.. they're not real. I'm not.. sure why you're in an officer's uniform if you're not an officer but- I'm not listening to you. I'm going on my w.. first, why did you hit me with that knightstick?
Unknown Man: I thought you were one of them. My name's Kimaru. Now, you know everything you need to know so GET OUT OF HERE, BEFORE I KILL YOU.
● In shock, Minoru straightens his back and stands up straight. Leaving his arms at his side, he looks at this man's body language.. he's uneasy. There's.. something off about this man.. "Not only has he just threatened to kill me but.. what's he after? You'd think he'd be happy to see somebody else alive."
Minoru: What're you motives, Kimaru? Sorry but I don't take threats personally. I almost died once today.. I almost lost my mother and I have no idea what condition my brother's in. I'm going to lose my mom if I don't hurry up and get back to her.. so if you would please move out of my way.
Kimaru: HAHA! Really? Really? You're threatening me? Really? What are you going to do about it? You can barely stand let alon- Okay. You wanna know why I'm dressed like this? You wanna know about me? I was a patient here. Yeah, a patient. I was involved in a robbery. My partners and I, we robbed this bank.. we had everything we needed; a get-away car.. all of the money, back up plans for days- but I wasn't so lucky. After holding up the place, I was shot in the chest opposite of my heart. They brought me to this nifty little place and said I was going to serve my time in jail after I was cleared to go. Luckily for me, something happened.. I woke up in a Hospital bed.. tubes in me, things attached to me.. I ripped them out and the first thing I saw was-who I assume to be-my nurse laying in the doorway with some thing.. on it's hands and knees at her neck. One of it's hands underneath her jawline and the other just above her collarbones.. it's mouth wrapped around her neck with it's teeth digging into her.. pulling her skin from her neck. It was feasting on her, eating her. I stood behind my bed and I pushed it as hard as I could, making it slide across the floor as that disgusting thing.. rose it's head from her neck to look at me. When it did, the metal frame of the bed-BOOM-sandwiched his head between itself and the wall.. causing his skull to be crushed. He collapsed onto the floor after I pulled the bed away.. laid there, bleeding-dying.. again. After I killed him, I went over to my nurse..somehow she was still hanging in there; I asked her what was going on and she filled me in. She told me everything she knew.
● Minoru looks down at Kimaru's disks and examines them more. He then looks around their environment.. trying to figure out if there's a way to run; to get away from this.. convict. There's not. Unfortunately, he can only deal with this guy the way they're doing it now.
Minoru: What did the nurse tell you?
Kimaru: HA! Like I'd tell you? I don't care about you or your family.
Minoru: I'm dying anyway.. right? I mean, I'm injured.. as you said; I can barely stand. How much longer before one of these things gets a hold of me?
Kimaru: Heh.. okay. She told me the employees were notified of some disease that was spreading. They told her she was probably going to be seeing a lot of people being rushed in with the symptoms. Those symptoms being disorientation, a fever, change in skin color, change in eye color and of course.. strange behavior along with rotting skin. It seems so surreal, right? I thought so too.. then I thought about it; that guy I killed.. there's no other explanation for it. Anyway, I asked her if there was any cure for it.. or anyway to stay immune to it. She said the doctors hadn't come up with anything. She said this case was new, they're unprepared.. after hearing that, I locked her out of my room and I remained in there for quite a while. I wasn't about to risk my life for somebody that was doomed to die anyway. I'm not doing that now either. While locked in the room, I noticed a map on the wall.. it was a map of the Hospital. After studying it, I realized there's a Medical Supply Storage; the same one you were talking about. I'm headed there too; I'm going to combine as many medicines as I can and I'm going to make myself immune.
Minoru: You do realize how stupid that sounds, right? She said it herself, there's no cure for it.. you can't honestly sit there and think you're going to combine a few medicines and.. create some immunity? That's foolish.
Kimaru: No, it's not. I know way more than anybody else does about this. Anybody that's alive anyway. There's no officers here.. all of them are dead. Matter of fact, I killed the last one. I heard somebody coming towards my room so I hid. There was some sort of needle laying on the desk.. there was some sort of liquid container next to it. I can only assume they used it to keep me unconscious while I was in that room; with a bullet in me. So, I hid in the corner and when he entered my room I seen it was an officer. I didn't care though, my life is more important than his.. just as it's more important than yours. That notwithstanding, I drove that needle into his neck and I took him out. I sure didn't wanna remain in that crappy Hospital gown so I took his uniform. That's, why I'm wearing this. So, move.. or I'll kill you just like I did that officer and that zombie.
Minoru: I'm not going to throw my mom and brother's lives down the drain just because of your selfish needs and psychotic beliefs.
Kimaru: Then how about this, soldier; we duel. We duel and the winner goes.. the loser dies.
Minoru: I'm.. not doing that. I'm not dueling you, I don't duel anymore. I'm not going to take your life after I beat you and I'm surely not putting my life at stake.
Kimaru: You wouldn't put your life on the line for your pathetic family? That goes to show how much they mean to you; if you're not even willing to sacrifi-
Minoru: YOU'RE ON! I'M GONNA KICK YOUR A-
Kimaru: RELAX YOUNG MAN. First of all, take off that atrocious thing you have on around your arm. That duel disk has been outdated for almost a decade.
● Kimaru takes off one of his pads and drops it's deck to the floor, leaving the cards scattered all over the place. He then tosses the D-Pad towards Minoru as well with a D-Gazer. Minoru catches it and looks down at it before looking back up at Kimaru.
Kimaru: PUT IT ON!
Minoru: What is this?!
Kimaru: It's the newest adaption to dueling. There's also something called XYZ Monsters but don't worry, I don't own any. I'm not interested in those pieces of trash, I'm just interested in this duel; right now. That gazer, you put it on your eye. It'll allow us to watch the duel in an augmented reality. So put it on. I stole the one I gave you from that officer. So hurry up, it's time for your life to end.
● Minoru removes his duel disk before Kimaru tosses the Pad towards him. He catches the pad and places his dick into it before he places the D-Pad onto his arm and he places the D-Gazer on his eye. Both men yell "DUEL" as the augmented reality setting takes place. The grid-like setting is set around both competitors, but this one's different.. insetad of the casual green grid you're used to seeing, this one's black and it vanishes; both men are returned to the destroyed hallway.
Minoru: I thought you said we were going to be in some augmented reality? What're you planning?
Kimaru: HAHAH! Don't you see? I've rigged it! That should already be obvious seeing as how the setting hasn't taken place.
Minoru: ..How were you even able to rig it? There's.. there's nothing around; nobody around for you to-
Kimaru: Brains, Minoru, brains. I have them, you don't. Yours are slowly dying, mine are getting smarter. I'm far more intelligent than you. There's a wire attached to these D-Pads, the reason I was wearing too. Whomever I came across that dueled would have the other one and since they're connected with a wire, at the end of that wire, inside of your D-Pad there's a bomb. Yes, a bomb. It's been triggered to blow when a user's lifepoints reach 0. That means, when you lose, the Pad will blow up and when it blows up-your arm will be incinerated in the explosion and so will you. Not only with your foerarm be blown from the rest of your arm, the range of the explosion will end your life! It'll also give those disgusting beings something to snack on. They can have my sloppy seconds. How though, how did I do this? There's computer labs, other labs in this place with running electricity. It's not the entire world that's under attack; it's our city. The main power grid is still up and running for now. You saw the lights in the boiler room, right? Yeah, while you were exploring the basement.. I was watching you in the control room. There's still power, just a limited supply. Unfortunately for you though, I've used the rest from everywhere I could to create this device. Yeah, I lied. I didn't think you were one of those.. zombies. I knew you were normal.. I know earlier; I know what I said but I'll say it again- I lied. Nobody deserves to be alive more than me! I planned on ending your life and I'm still planning on it. After I end your life, your mom and brother are next. SO DRAW! Since your life will be the one ending first, I figure I'll let you go first. IT'S ALL OVER YOU MINORU!
-THE DUEL-
● Both competitor's lifepoints are set to the default 4000 setting. Minoru draws his hand, as does Kimaru and their hands are the following:
MINORU'S HAND AND FIRST TURN:
● Minoru looks down at his hand.. thinking of what he should do this turn. The guy he's facing.. he's serious and he's a lunatic. Minoru grabs a hold of Mystic Plasma Zone and sets it down in the Field-Zone. Turning the dueling field into a stormy environment.
Minoru: Y'know, I haven't dueled in a while but I'm ready to take you down! You're not getting away with whatever selfish plan you have going on.
Kimaru: Whatever you say Minoru.. just go.
Minoru: First! I'll active Mystic Plasma Zone! Then I'll activate Pot of Duality! I take th-
Kimaru: I know what it does... JUST GO!
Minoru: ...
● Minoru activates the card, revealing the top 3 cards of his deck, adding one of them to his hand and shuffling the rest back into his deck. Revealing those three cards to be Wall of Illusion, Kuriboh and Great Maju Garzett. He adds Maju into his hand, shuffling the other cards into his deck. He then sets Metal Reflect Slime and DNA Surgery face-down before summoning Stygian in Attack Position.
Minoru: I'll set two cards face down, then I'll now summon Stygian Street Patrol in attack mode! Then thanks to my field card, he gains 500 Attack Points! Making his ATK Power 2100! However, he loses 400 Defense Points.. making them 800. I end my turn.
● Kimaru draws his sixth card, completing his hand for the first turn of the duel.
KIMARU'S HAND AND FIRST TURN:
● Kimaru grabs a hold of Cyber Larva and sets it face-down in defense position. Then, he places Time Machine face-down before activating Pot of Duality.
Kimaru: First, I'll set one card on the field.. then I'll set one card face-down before activating the same card you did, Pot of Duality! The three cards are: Chain Energy, Final Destiny and Machina Fortress. I'll be adding Machina Fortress to my hand. Your move.
● Kimaru adds Fortress to his hand before shuffing the other cards into his deck. He then looks down at his hand, studying it.. trying to figure out strategies as Minoru makes his move.
MINORU'S SECOND TURN:
Minoru draws Nobleman of Extermination.
Minoru: Now, I activate Nobleman of Extermination! It removes your face-down card from play; if you have any other cards with the same name in your deck, they get removed from play as well!
Kimaru: ...Fine.
● Kimaru sends Time Machine to the RFG section of his D-Pad and crosses his hands; awaiting Minoru to finish his turn since there's only one Time Machine in his deck.
Minoru: Next, I'll attack your face-down monster with Stygian! You lose life points equal to the monsters level times 100! After that, I'll sacrifice my Stygian to tribute summon Great Maju Garzett! His attack is originally zero but his effect activates when he's tribute summoned; the gains the attack of the tributed monster doubled! Which means, his ATK will now be 3200 since Stygian's original attack is 1600! Then because of my field-card he gains 500 attack points; increasing it to 3700! I end my turn on that.
Kimaru: Not bad.. however, the effect of my monster activates! Cyber Larva, when it's destroyed by battle I can Special Summon another one in it's place! I summon Cyber Larva in defense mode!
Minoru: But you still take 100 points of damange.
Kimaru: That may be so.. but I'm not gone yet. Your monster may be the strongest but for now only.
● Kimaru draws Limiter Removal, getting ready to proceed with his turn.
KIMARU'S HAND AND TURN; LP: 3900
Magnet Circle LV2, Machina Sniper, Machina Fortress, Machina Soldier, Limiter Removal.
Kimaru: HAHA! JUST AS I SAID! First, I'll send Machina Sniper and Machina Soldier from my hand to my Graveyard to Special Summon Machina Fortress! In order to Special Summon him, I need to discard Machine-Type monsters whose level equals 8 or more! Soldier and Sniper together equaled 8!
Minoru: Yeah but his attack power is only 2500.. my monsters is 3700?
Kimaru: Not anymore, I activate Limiter Removal! It doubles the attack of all Machine-Type monsters on my side of the field for this turn; they're destroyed at the End Phase but it's worth it! Now my Fortress' attack is 5000! My Larva's attack is 800! Now, go! Fortress attack and destroy his Garzett!
● Kimaru switches his Larva into attack mode and continues with his attack, destroying Minoru's Great Maju Garzett, inflicting 1300 points of damage to Minoru.
Minoru: AAAH! No! My monster!
Kimaru: THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE MINORU! LIKE I SAID, YOU STAND NO CHANCE! YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE DEAD! Now, Larva attack!
Minoru: NOT SO FAST! I activate Metal Reflect Slime! He's a Trap and a Monster at the same time, when he's activated he's placed in the Monster Card Zone in Defense Position! His defense is 3000, that's more than enough to stop your attack!
Kimaru: So be it.. I'll set the final card in my hand face-down before sending my monsters to the Graveyard to end my turn.
● Minoru draws Dark Crusader during his Draw Phase before beginning his turn.
MINORU'S HAND AND TURN; LP: 2700
Hammer Shot, Dark Crusader
● "I can't activate Dark Crusader's effect.. I can send one Dark Monster from my hand to the Graveyard to increase his attack by 400 points.. but I only have Hammer Shot in my hand which is pointless. It destroys the monster with the strongest ATK on the field.. OH! MY FIELD CARD! THAT WILL BOOST MY MONSTER'S ATTACK TO 2100!"
Minoru: I'll summon Dark Crusader in attack mode! His attack is 1600 points but because of my field card he gains 500, making it 2100! His defense falls to zero.
Kimaru: Oh no..
Minoru: NOW, CRUSADER; ATTACK HIM DIRECTLY!
Kimaru: NO!
● Dark Crusader attacks Kimaru directly, stabbing him right in the stomach with his over-sized weapon; decreasing Kimaru's lifepoints to 1800. One more attack and it's over for Kimaru.. literally-one more attack and his life is over.
Minoru: With that, I'll end my turn.
● Kimaru draws Paralyzing Potion.. something that may come in handy here.
KIMARU'S HAND AND TURN; LP: 1800
Paralyzing Potion
Kimaru: From my hand, I activate Paralyzing Potion! One non Machine-Type monster equipped with this card can't attack! I'll equip it to your Dark Crusader. That ends my turn.
● A green-glowing bottle appears over the Crusader, drenching him in some form of liquid, he becomes.. somewhat frozen in his stance and is unable to move. Minoru draws Monster Reborn.. something that can DEFINITELY help him out here.
MINORU'S HAND AND TURN; LP: 2700
Hammer Shot, Monster Reborn
Minoru: I activate Monster Reborn! I'm sorry Kimaru.. but you're just not good enough to beat somebody who hasn't dueled for years. I told you I wasn't going to allow you to get in the way of me saving my family.. I meant that. I don't want to take your life.. but this is for the lives of my family: NOTHING is going to get in the way of me saving them! Now, Monster Reborn, resurrect Machina Fortress from Kimaru's Graveyard to my side of the field in attack mode!
● Monster Reborn brings Machine Fortress back to Minoru's side of the field.
CURRENT DUEL FIELD OBSERVATION:
Minoru: Dark Crusader may not be able to attack you but Machina Foretress can! Go! MACHINA, ATTACK HIM DIRECTLY AND WIPE OUT THE REST OF HIS LIFE POINTS; END HIS LIFE!
Kimaru: NOOO! MINORU,DON'T ORDER THE ATTACK!
Minoru: FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE ATTACK MACHINA; MACHINE FIRE BLOWOUT!
● Just before Machina Fortress can attack, the scene fades.. we're taken back to Megumi with Minoru's battered mother, sitting on the ground in front of the car with Miss Starwind leaning up against the vehicle.
-MEANWHILE WITH MEGUMI AND MS. STARWIND-
● Megumi is still sitting with Miss Starwind.. that is until something enters her mind as she stares at the building. "There's.. lights flickering around in there.. that means there's power here still!"
Megumi: Miss Starwind! I have an idea; can you sit steady for like.. two minutes? I won't go far, I just had an idea.
Minoru's Mother: Yeah dear... go on, I'll be fine.
● Megumi rises to her feet and jogs back to a nearby car, she looks inside the ignition and sees the keys still intact. She opens up the driver's door and sits inside. She turns the key inside the ignition and the car magically starts up. Automatically, she turns on the radio and turns to a local news station; on the radio though.. she hears something unfortunate;
News Reporter: Yes, I'm being told right now at this minute there's some sort of outbreak happening around the center of the city. A popular Hospital is supposed to be holding an event there today where any and everybody is welcomed to donate items for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for severely ill children that've been infected with cancer. The Hospital this is happening at, Grant Medical Center, is located in the city of the outbreak. I-..excuse me, one moment...
● Megumi's eyes widen just a tad.. so far this doesn't sound good but maybe there's some good news being patched in right now? "There's an outbreak? It..OH NO! It has to be an outbreak of those things I saw earlier! There's more!? That's not good.. I haven't seen anymore though.. where a-OH THE REPORTER!" The news reporter begins speaking again as Megumi closes her eyes, focusing on the reporter's words;
News Reporter: Oh no.. I'm, I'm being told that the city's name is Bridgewich! The update.. Bridgewich was investigated earlier by all of the SWAT Teams and elite Police forces in Ohio.. The OPD-Ohio Police Department-dispatched all of their best groups out to Bridgewich.. only few retu-What? Oh..oh no.. Okay, at Grant Medical Center in Bridgewich, Ohio there was an event going on in which people were donating gifts to sick children diagnosed with cancer.. they were also donating to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and there happened to be some sort of outbreak. It's unknown at the moment what type of outbreak that was but the OPD dispatched the best of the best elite groups they had. Very few returned, many of the officers sent had died and it's being told now that they cleared the area. The area, as of right now, is being deemed as quarantined. That means nobody's getting in.. and nothing's getting out.
● Megumi's eyes widen even more.. her eyes fill with tears when she hears this heart-breaking news. "The city we're in.. has been quarantined.. we're not getting help? Nobody is going to be able to help us? W-what are we going to do?" She then turns her head and looks towards the Hospital; tears beginning to stream down her cheeks; "Minoru.. where are you?" Suddenly, her focus is broken; Minoru's mom is calling for her.. she quickly exits the vehicle and runs back to Miss Starwind, wiping her face and eyes clear of tears.. thank God; she's okay. "Oh.. th-I thought she was about to leave us.. in the worst way possible."
Megumi: Did you need something Miss Starwind? Are you okay?
Minoru's Mother: I'm fine, I heard a radio though.. did you find anything out sweetie?
● Megumi's eyes instantly fill with tears again.. they're too hard to fight-they begin streaming down her face again as she stares into Miss Starwind's.. "She's still bleeding and if there isn't somebody insane that Hospital to help.. we're all dead."
Minoru's Mother: ...What is it?

● The camera pans back, zooming out of focus from Megumi and Minoru's Mother.. you get a view of all of the destruction and chaos around.. the usually illuminated big red cross atop the Hospital is dimmed.. slightly slanted and shooting sparks as parts of the grass remain dug up from earlier when the Hospital florists were doing their job. The circular black-topped pavement that leads to the entrance of the Hospital is littered with crashed and smashed cars, some spewing oil as others drip blood from the driver's seat while burning in flames. When the camera pans out more.. you can see what's around the block.. what seems to be an army of the zombie-like creatures headed straight for the Hospital as "Shine" by Hannah Georgas plays while the screen fades and the credits roll.

Awesome Concept and very Descriptive... A bit jealous of how much description you put into it haha.
I loved the duel veiws, great idea I've always wanted to but in my Fanfics I always do new cards so I can't exactly do that XD...easily anyways.
