Oh my god why are people so stupid?

If Reborn Tengu is destroyed while face down, its effect does not resolve. Same thing if its returned to the hand or RFPed while face down. However... and this is the part that baffles me... when you attack a face down monster... THE MONSTER FLIPS. Therefore Tengu is now face up when destroyed and therefore the effect does resolve.

Thevoid is correct in terms of the ruling. When a face-down Tengu is attacked it is flipped, so the effect goes off. If it is retruned to the deck, effect does not go off. Same thing if it was removed from the field while face-down (without being flipped of coarse), you do not get a Tengu.
