[Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
A guide to the deck that says "negate" more than any other!
The Heralds:
Herald can activate during damage step.
Herald can activate multiple times during a chain.
Herald can be summoned by Advanced Ritual Art (I know this sounds weird but its the official ruling...)
Herald can not negate the activations of already faceup cards (oppression, etc.)
Basically as long as you have fairies in hand you can negate and negate. Massive 2.8 k defense stops most attacks cold. Light attribute allows for honest support if needed.
Herald of Green Light can activate during damage step.
This card is usually for those first turn rota's, uniteds, and gateways. In other cases Herald of Perfection (from now on abbreviated HoP) is better.
Can activate during damage step.
This card will be your main tuner if you run any synchros. Effect is mediocre and is a more costly version of effect veiler that destroys.
Summoning HoP
3x level 1-----cloudian sheep cloud, mokey mokey
3x level 2-----mystical shine ball, happy lover
1x level 4-----shining abyss, dumanes dark witch
1x level 6(optional)------Gyakutenno Megami
The Searchers
Support
Black Hole-useless
Dimesional Prison-useless
Mind Control-useless
and so on
They can't kill it by battle or by card effects. They can't target it. The only way it can die is if they destroy safe zone. Buts it is HoP, and you will never let that willing happen. In playtesting this combo is so hard to break that I have literally won at times by forcing my opponent to deck out. By drawing one card at a time. Safe zone protects HoP while it negates everything else.
Potential alternate method of making herald. If you have dawn of the herald in hand, summon tour guide and special summon the djinn. Ritual summon with them and now they can't special summon.
Variants
TAoM Earth->get TAoM Jupiter-> 6 stars for Dawn of the Herald.
Dawn of the Herald requires exactly six stars, so the deck runs lots of level 6s, 4s, and 2s.
Discard Light Fairy for Herald Effect->remove same fairy for Master Hyperion effect
The entire deck is for the most part light fairies. This synergy between HoP and master hyperion is the primary advantage engine of the deck, a once per turn +1 trade.
I don't run kristya because your graveyard is almost always small. Kristya dead draws a lot in this HoP variant.
The level 4 searchers, once spent, are used for rank 4 xyz. Herald of Orange light is also a tuner, and this deck can go for level 6 or 8 synchros. Soul of Purity and Light can special summon itself by removing from play 2 light fairies in the grave, so level 8 synchros are not too hard to make.
Gozen match is here because it hurts many different matchups, and this entire deck (except sonic bird) and number 39: utopia (your main xyz) are all light.
Safe Zone will be your most important card in the next format. JD and BLS can't use their effects to kill HoP, but they can attack over it. Safe Zone eliminates this key weakness.
The Heralds:
Notable rulings:
Fairy/Light/Ritual/Effect
Level 6 1800/2800
This card can only be Ritual summoned with the ritual spell card, "Dawn of the Herald". When you opponent activates a spell card, trap card, or effect monster's effect, you can send 1 fairy-type monster from your hand to the graveyard to negate the activation and destroy that card.
Notable rulings:
Fairy/Light/Effect
Level 2 300/500
You can send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card and destroy it. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.
Herald of Green Light can activate during damage step.
This card is usually for those first turn rota's, uniteds, and gateways. In other cases Herald of Perfection (from now on abbreviated HoP) is better.
Notable rulings:
Fairy/Light/Effect/Tuner
Level 2 300/500
You can send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an effect of an Effect Monster your opponent controls, and destroy it. You can activate this effect during either player's turn.
Can activate during damage step.
This card will be your main tuner if you run any synchros. Effect is mediocre and is a more costly version of effect veiler that destroys.
Don't run this.
Fairy/Light/Effect
Level 2 300/500
You can send this card and 1 other Fairy-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard to negate the activation of an opponent's Trap Card and destroy it. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.
Summoning HoP
The standard spell for ritual summoning him. Is not run in happy herald decks, but is commonly used in other versions. This card is used to Ritual Summon "Herald of Perfection". You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal exactly 6 from the field or your hand. When "Herald of Perfection" is Ritual Summoned by this card's effect, you can remove from play this card in your Graveyard to select 1 of the monsters Tributed for that Ritual Summon, and return it from your Graveyard to your hand.
Basically a free ritual summon that sends normal monsters from your deck to the graveyard instead of monsters form you hand. Ideal normal monster ratio (all normal monsters should be fairies) isSelect 1 Ritual Monster in your hand. Send Normal Monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard whose total Levels are equal to that Ritual Monster's. Ritual Summon a card with the name of the selected Ritual Monster from your hand.
3x level 1-----cloudian sheep cloud, mokey mokey
3x level 2-----mystical shine ball, happy lover
1x level 4-----shining abyss, dumanes dark witch
1x level 6(optional)------Gyakutenno Megami
The Searchers
Search for Adv Ritual Art or HoP. If HoP is already out search for another HoP to replace itself as fodder for HoP's effectFairy/Light/Effect
Level 4 1400/1000
When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, you can select 1 Ritual Monster Card or 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck and add it to your hand.
Search for Dawn or for Adv Ritual ArtWinged Beast/ Wind/Effect
Level 4 1400/1000
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned, add 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.
More HoP searching and ritual spell recycling. Very handy if they solemn warning or judgement your first Adv Ritual Art. It allows for attempt number 2.Add to your hand 1 Level 7 or lower Ritual Monster Card from your Deck. Then you can add to your hand 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Graveyard.
More HoP searching.Fairy/Light/Effect
Level 4 1400/1000
When this card is Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned, you can select 1 Ritual Monster Card from your Deck and add it to your hand. Then shuffle your Deck.
Support
And no fairy deck is complete without this. Locks down many meta decks and gifts you with a huge beatter. You can summon this straight off Advanced Ritual Art by sending 2 level 2's and 2 level 1's. Also sends a fairy back to your hand for more negation.Fairy/Light/Effect
Level 8 2800/2300
If you have exactly 4 Fairy-Type monsters in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When you do, add 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Graveyard to your hand. Neither player can Special Summon monsters. If this face-up card would be sent from the field to the Graveyard, it returns to the top of the owner's Deck, instead.
Read card carefully. Now imagine the implications of this attached to a HoP.Select 1 face-up Attack Position monster on the field. It cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects, it cannot be destroyed by battle, and it cannot attack your opponent directly. When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. When that monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.
Black Hole-useless
Dimesional Prison-useless
Mind Control-useless
and so on

Variants
Basic strategy of the deck is to search for herald and adv rit art first turn, summon herald, and use adv ritual art to fill the graveyard for kristya. Dark Factory replenishes hand with fairies and kristya as well as mudora act as beatsticks. Note that this version of the deck is no longer competitive.
Happy Herald/Adv Ritual Art Herald (OUT OF DATE)
Monsters (23)
3x Manju
3x HoP
3x Cloudian Smoke Ball
3x Mystical Shine Ball
1x Shining Abyss
2x Archlord Krystia
1x Tethys, Goddess of Light
1x Darklord Desire
2x Mudora
2x Gellenduo
2x Sonic Bird
Spells (14)
3x Preparation of Rites
2x Dark Factory of Mass Production
1x Dark Hole
1x Giant Trunade
1x Adv Ritual Art
1x Dawn of the Herald
3x Upstart Goblin
2x Pot of Avarice
Traps (3)
3x Safe Zone
The same search engine for HoP and the ritual spells exist, but the advantage engine is completely different. The major plays:
Agent Herald
Monsters (25)
3x Manju
2x Senju
1x Sonic Bird
3x HoP
3x Herald of Orange Light
3x TAoM Earth
3x TAoM Jupiter
3x Master Hyperion
3x Soul of Purity and Light
1x Honest
Spells (10)
2x Preparation of Rites
3x Dawn of the Herald
1x Giant Trunade
1s Monster Reborn
3x Pot of Duality
Traps (5)
2x Safe Zone
2x Gozen Match
1x Return from the Different Dimesion
TAoM Earth->get TAoM Jupiter-> 6 stars for Dawn of the Herald.
Dawn of the Herald requires exactly six stars, so the deck runs lots of level 6s, 4s, and 2s.
Discard Light Fairy for Herald Effect->remove same fairy for Master Hyperion effect

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
I love Tour Guide plus Djinn. Make sit so you dont have to run krystia and makes it possible to run chaos. The worst part about the deck is the fact that you have to run bad cards like the shine and smoke balls.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
You dont have to run bad cards it's only the Happy Herald usintg those low level monsters.
A difference to a usual Herald deck is that you can use Advanced Ritual which uses cards from deck and the factory which is always + 1 and gets you monsters for the normal tribute or Herald.
Btw. Imo the Orange Herald has a good effect.

Veiler>Orange in this deck since you drop an extra fairy for this
I ran Heralds for a while, but they can only stall until you drop kryistia, and if that gets solemn'd, your pretty much screwed

Djinn's effect triggers in the graveyard so it already has its effect back by then.Whiplash07 wrote:ok so im a little confused...im new to heralds but if you summon tour tour guide then special summon Djinn doesnt Tour Guide negate its effect thus still allowing your opponent to special summon????
Why no Hyperion though? Herald of Perfection fuels Hyperions effect while Hyperion can take care of the backrow to ease up the strain on your hand or take care of any annoying monsters like Spirit Reaper.
Also Herald of Perfection is the only deck I know that can actually use Destiny Board thanks to his effect.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
The TC's build is horrible. It doesn't run Agents, and it runs Shining Abyss, Desire, Mudora, and Gellnduo.
Learn how the deck works before posting these stuff pleeease.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
My specialty is heralds.
With the safe zone, Herlad becomes nearly unstoppable.. This format, there are four main cards you need to stop, Like the MSTs and the heavy. Safe zone can be used defensively when your opponent has a monster that can still attack directly..
My favorite combo was Safe zone their monster giant trunade getting rid of their monster and their back row, Summoning herald in attack swinging for 1800 and setting safe zone with oppression.
After that. nobody comes back from a combo like that. Its like the big bang shot combos with MV falcon.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
You should definitely be mentioning the Agent Herald build in here. The deck allows for fast HoP plays with the abundance of 4*/2* combos, has Earth to not only provide tuning power, but "replaces" itself in hand when you have Herald out, making it a free summon without losing fairies in hand. And, it goes without saying, but what Happy Herald can't do, without Krystia, is start attacking, which Hyperion jumps in and does for you, all the while killing their field and grave controlling for the Krystia play. It's also a much better, tribute-free out to Reaper and the like.

Yup like you said.. The downside with the build is that If you do decide to do herald late game then it'll be kinda late. The other thing that i like about the deck is that you can summon earth and grab jup, then dawn them and remove the dawn to grab back the earth, do it again next turn or just ditch it for herald.
The thing I noticed is that the deck needs just 2 earths.. I tend to recycle them alot

This thread was dead for a while, so i abandoned it. And it was made before agent heralds became the vogue. Now that it has been necrobumped I may update it to include agent heralds, which is in fact one of my main decks.Darkplant wrote:Whiplash07 wrote:So which Herald build is better...the Agent Herald or the one that uses all the normal monsters to fuel Advanced Ritual?????

Partial Edits done.
And everybody, learn to read dates. The original post was made before the lost sanctuary structure deck was even released in tcg, so darkplant, now you can take your head out of whatever crack it's stuck in and make some productive comments.

Another deck that TourGuide can work in. No wonder it is such a money card. Put it in your deck and win.
Heralds might not be AS dead as I once thought they were. Now have another way to fit in BLS in a deck once not thought possible.

Play is sorta gimmcky, but I'll give it credit for being an amusing way to lock down the field with a drop of Herald.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
so, how do you get rid of safetied herald?
1. Spiritualism
2. Volcanic Queen/Lava Golem
3. Super Polymerization
4. Splendid Venus + removal
5. Gandora/Metaion/Bysershock/S&T Removal + some counter trap monster eff negate
6. removal/trap negation until he/she runs out of fairies
7. Jinzo
Of which 2 and 3 are made impossible by anti-SS, and 4 is made unlikely by the same. 3 still seems to be the most likely choice, though. Shining ftw?

Chivalry if Herald effect is used in the battle phase.
Banisher of Radiance as a partial counter.
Jinzo if Herald is in attack position.
Edit:
I don't know if this will work or not but a LaDD effect loop and hope he runs out of monsters before LaDD loses all his attack.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
Divine Wrath/Chivalry will negate, but it still can't destroy due to Safe Zone's effect.
Jinzo will work.
I don't believe LaDD's effect can be activated more than once per chain.
Herald of Orange Will get negated.
Updated list to be slightly more comprehensive.

Re: [Deck Review] Herald of Perfection
If you use MST to target Safe Zone, they negate it, you counter with Divine Wrath/Chivalry then since their effect is negated then MST will resolve successfully and get rid of Safe Zone and by extension remove Herald as well.storyteller wrote:Divine Wrath/Chivalry will negate, but it still can't destroy due to Safe Zone's effect.
