New Xyz ruling and Dandylion like effects
I was in a debate whether my Needle Mambo (which works like Dandylion) gets its effect if it's detached from an Xyz since I believe it does because it just has to go to the grave and not leave the field, however others have said its effect is totally negated.
I was hoping to get this cleared.

Yeah the effect works for the pure fact that it is sent to the grave
Re: New Xyz ruling and Dandylion like effects
If an effect activates in the graveyard that doesnt say it has to be sent from somewhere specific to the graveyard, such as Dandylion, it will work. However effects that activate when sent from the field to the graveyard, such as sangan, do not activate since xyz materials are not technically on the field. Additionally effects that would RFP (only) monsters went sent to the graveyard, such as the effect of Plaguespreader Zombie, Quillbolt Hedgehog, etc, would not banish them since they are already off the field. I hope this clears up your question and answers potential future questions.

What TheVoid and nelynel12 say is correct. Needle Mambo will work if it's detached from an Xyz.

Though TCG makes it more clear and says they're on the field but blank cards part of the Xyz rather than off the field but the "leave field" rule stops the stuff anyway.
Anyway thanks for your help, now I can be sure I'm the correct one.

Sorry to ask, but I don't find that card anywhere except on DN... Where does it come from?
