hi every body , while i was just fiddling around the main menu on duelling network i saw that there was a change password option but no change username option and i was wondering why i was pondering and pondering and so i decided to start this topic and suggest maybe an '' account settings '' option in the main menu instead of just change password, this option could also allows users to change their passwords but username as-well.

please leave a comment on what u think of this suggestion and please any admins to help discuss the options thank you for reading . Very Happy

This is a very bad idea. Everyone goes changing their names whenever they feel like it everyone will start getting confused who is who. People also would try and use it for the FORCES OF EVIL!!! They will try and use it to hide themselves trying to block punishment in some way for doing something they shouldn't be doing.

I think they have a thing where you can request a name change but even that has its limits.

changing your own username is usually not possible for normal members, an Admin has to do that, and it is like that in every Forum (at least in every Forum I know^^). And when you look at the overview of the support forums here you'll find a "name change" topic right below the announcements where you can order a name change...

their would have to be a log of past usernames for each user, as well as a limit on how many times per month they could do it. This would cause a lot more strain on the server as well, In my opinion, it isn't worth the cost

I think I remember Det or one of the admins saying that they can't change usernames in DN. If you want a new username, you'd have to make a new account.

of course it is possible for us to chamge your username. But its never going to happen so dont ever bother asking us. The above posts sum up the reasons.

then ,why ive seen people being asked to make a new account by the mods because the names they have arent allowed?

No administrators do not have the option to do it. What im saying is that if we really have to do it it can be done. Its policy for no name changes simple as that
