World Duel Carnival Rules

Welcome everyone, to DuelingNetwork's Official World Duel Carnival. Look around and you can see you have quite the list of rivals to deal with. There are over 750 players split up into 8 groups. This doesn't make this a cake walk. You've come here to either have fun, win, but most of all duel. Prove to us who is the best duelist of the month. The finals await, and we hope to see you there.


- When dueling with an opponent you are required to play a match. If you win 2 duels out of 3 you win the match.
- Your are playing in advanced format. Unreleased/unconfirmed or banned cards are not permitted in this tournament.
- Both OCG and TCG legal cards are allowed.
- Cheating will result in a Disqualification and you will be blacklisted from future tournaments.
- A player may side deck but only by following the current standard for side decking. Add 15 cards to your current deck then add your hand to your deck and banish 15 cards that are in your side deck facedown. At the end of a game put everything back in your deck and repeat. You are not to quit this duel if you use a side deck or it will count as a game loss.

Round 1 will be held from the 18th-26th of October. It will consist of 8 days of free-for-all heart points rounds. The first players that are to accumulate a total of 4 Heart pieces will be accepted into finals. Only 64 participants can enter the finals (8 from each group) so make sure you post a new topic with all of your victories as soon as you win your 4th Heart piece.

- Players start with (1) one Heart Piece.
- Upon losing you give your (1) Heart Piece to your opponent.
- A player who's Heart piece count is (0) zero will be eliminated.
- Create a new topic <a href="http://forum.duelingnetwork.com/f60-first-round-heart-points" target="_blank">here</a> when you complete a duel, stating your opponent and the winner's sign-up name. Both player will need to confirm for the match to be recognized.
- Upon successfully collecting 4 heart points, you will be required to create a new topic <a href="http://forum.duelingnetwork.com/f77-second-round-entry" target="_blank">here</a> summarizing how you got all your heart points and from which duelists.

**If you have any questions on the procedure of the tournament or need help feel free to contact anyone on the listed Contact Staff/Judge List.




A member who has their topic posted <a href="http://forum.duelingnetwork.com/f77-second-round-entry" target="_blank">here</a> about their wins/losses and total heart points accepted and approved by a tournament judge will then continue to the finals. More information about this round will be available soon.



- A dueling network avatar specifically made for the winner.
- A dueling network sleeves specifically made for the winner
- The avatar and sleeve will only last for one month until the next WDC as it's only made for the current winner of the WDC.

I think it's a really important question for everyone

It is traditional format, any card can be used

It is advanced format. You cannot use banned cards or currently unconfirmed/unreleased cards.

hello i have a question here how can we do match duel? and if there are all participant in a group didn't find enough opponent on these days, how can those participants goes to the next round?

quite unlikely not to find enough... if you don't you are just unlucky^^

the matches are done in a single game. That means you enter the room and when round 1 is done you return everything to the deck, side in and out as described, shuffle, draw 5 for the start of the next round.

Ok Advanced format decks. Guess like I'll have to start using my advance deck and give my tradtional deck a break.

This thread says Round 1 will be held from the 18th-26th of October, but the group 8 should be dueling Day 8 (27th of October) 00:01-23:59 System Time according to Round Shedule. What one is the right one?

It will depend on your timezone. Some people will be dueling on the late hours of 26th, some on the 27th, some all the way through to the early morning of the 28th. You will need to confirm with the countdown timer closer to our day if you haven't worked it out already.

There will be only 8 qualified group? for I work until quite late: s is it that I would be a disadvantage of the coup?

And my time zone is France, I have a big gap? (Uses: google translation)

You can choose your opponent from anyone in the same group as you. It'd be a good idea to PM someone before-hand, try and see if you can arrange for a match during the day your duels are hosted. It would make it much easier if you do.

@TorySeaGulls, The sign ups are closed. You'll have to wait until next month's WDC.

Also i suggest adding a chunk of your group to your friends list. You will know when they are online and can give them a quick PM on DN

Emm... I signed up , but i don't appear in the groups... my nick at DN is Sai Juan D' LWM, and i looked at the S and Z groups, but none of my nicks appear on them...What should i do?

ok i get most of whats going on but im confused on how to side deck...can someone explain please?

To side deck, add your 15 side deck cards to your deck.
Then when you start duel, return your hand to the deck and banish your side deck cards FD (facedown) and draw again.

ohhh i see so the side deck will be in ur deck but u have to seperate it before the duel...nice lil workaround lol thanks!

No, challonge groups are not use for the tournament.

there for like 2 weeks
on the main screen of DN there was a link for the tourney sing ups and it stayd there for 2 weeks

take a screenshot and post it thats the better proof you will have to demostrate your win

Besides, so far people have been honest. I don't think many people want to win a prize that lasts for a month badly enough to risk being blacklisted from further tournaments by lying.

I think its refering to the day of the tournament:

WDC2= Day 2 of the WDC
WDC3= Day 3 of the WDC
WDC4= Day 4 of the WDC (which will start in less than 24hrs)

how and where would you post the screenshot if this happens then?

I must withdraw from the World Duel Carnival. I just don't think I'm ready for a tournament of this scale, plus I don't really have the time this month or next. Good luck, guys and gals.
