Solved Masked Ninja Ebisu ruling

Post  3E-hero neos 2011-10-21, 08:29

Hey guys,

Well, I really like this guy, but I feel like a cheater when using it...lol.
Suppose I have more Ninja's(including this monster)then opponent has Spells/Traps, can I then activate his effect?

This is his text, the bald part confuses me.
Once per turn: Return Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls to the hand equal to the number of face-up "Ninja" monsters you control. You must control a face-up "Ninja" monster, except "Masked Ninja Ebisu", to activate and to resolve this effect. During this turn, "Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja" can attack your opponent directly.

I'm comparing it with R - Righteous Justice but the old Upperdeck rulings have been deemed unofficial by Konami :S.

Thanks in advance for answering me.

Since it has the same kind of effect as Righteous Justice, except it's a Trunade not a Heavy, I'd assume you can send spells/traps to the hand even if you have more Ninjas than the opponent has Spells/Traps. The best thing to do would be to assume you can until Konami says something different.

even if unofficial, that still takes place. If the opponent controlls less s/t than you control ninjas you can't activate it, since you must send an EQUAL ammount.

R just works with more heroes since you are also able to destroy your own s/t for that.

What I want to know is, if he needs another Ninja to activate his effect, is he himself counted towards the resolution of the effect or no?

You must control a face-up "Ninja" monster, except "Masked Ninja Ebisu", to activate and to resolve this effect.

So in that sense, he can only bounce up to 4?

He can bounce up to 5. He will counts himself when the effect resolves, but he needs another different "Ninja" in order to activate the effect.

Ok... there is more ninjas..... so he can bounce.

But Now situation is.... I draw another ebichu...
And I normal summon him....
So... there are 2 of them now + 1 another ninja

How suppose in this situation... can he bounce 3 ? or just 4 (2+2)? or even 5 ?

You can bounce back 3 S/T your opponent control because there are 3 face-up "Ninja" monsters on your field. And after the 1st Ebisu resolves succesfully and bounce back 3 S/T cards, you can't activate the effect of the 2nd Ebisu because there is not enough S/T cards on your opponent's field for you to bounce back.

Uh I dunno... the text implying the 2'nd ebisu wouldn't count...

Once per turn, if you control a face-up "Ninja" monster other than "Masked Ninja Ebisu": Return Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls to the hand equal to the number of "Ninja" monsters you control. During this turn, "Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja" can attack your opponent directly.
