Solved Gladiator beast heraklinos and lightning vortex

Hello guys, so here's the question

I have control of gladiator beast heraklinos and my oponent activates Lightning vortex, now if I want to negate the effect of lightning vortex, will my oponent get back his card that he discarded from his hand to activate lightning vortex?

No. Discarding for Lightning Vortex is a cost. Costs are not returned, even if the effect is negated.
