Swap LADD

I was curious... is it possible to return Ladd to the hand with swap frogs effect? I read that Ladd would be a cost and therefore couldn't negate because he is not face up at the time of resolution, but I was wondering if that is the legitimate ruling.

Yeah that's correct. Ladd negates effects not costs.

LaDD does not negate effects, rather, it negates activations.

And saying LaDD does not negate cost is sort of missing the point. The major idea to notice is that Costs are always paid and never refunded, by saying LaDD does not negate cost, it gives the impression that other cards can negate Cost but LaDD cannot

to get back to the original point the only time that swap from could use its effect to successfully bring LADD back to the hand is when LADD is depleted.

Fair enough on the activation part. Towards your cost rant. That was bad wording on my part.
