Solved Tiger king wanghu

Post  LuzCeleste 2011-12-10, 12:38

Just a bit confused about his effect...

Destroy all monsters with an ATK equal to 1400 or less that are Normal Summoned or Special Summoned.

1. Does it only affect monsters when they are special/normal summoned? Or does it also affect the ones already on the field?

2a. If a monster with ? Attack is summoned, but it would have less than 1400 ... Does it get destroyed? Like fortune lady light or the calculator.

2b. What if a monster had 0 attack printed, but would gain more after summoned, like Uria lord of the searing flames.

3. Also if future visions is on the field, which would activate first? Wanghu or visions? And what would happen to the monster?

4. Can I claim priority over my own monster? Like if I summon a monster with less than 1400 attack, and I want to activate it's effect before Wanghu kills it. (both monsters being mine)

5. Does this effect start a chain?

Nope. They get off Scott-free (whatever that means).
2a. If a monster with ? Attack is summoned, but it would have less than 1400 ... Does it get destroyed? Like fortune lady light or the calculator.
Yep. The king kills them.
2b. What if a monster had 0 attack printed, but would gain more after summoned, like Uria lord of the searing flames.
Nope. The king spares them.
3. Also if future visions is on the field, which would activate first? Wanghu or visions? And what would happen to the monster?
Depends. The turn player's card will go first, followed by the other guy's.
4. Can I claim priority over my own monster? Like if I summon a monster with less than 1400 attack, and I want to activate it's effect before Wanghu kills it. (both monsters being mine)
Nope. Die, Rabbit, die!
5. Does this effect start a chain?
Yes.

Then you should really know your card's rulings before you run the deck.
Jesting.
Anyway, you choose how the chain forms.

Everything Potus said was right except the last one. King Tiger Wanghu does start a chain.

Okay so last one... If I have a continouous spell/trap that decreases the ATt of my opponent's monsters like burden of the mighty, Would tiger take Em out even if they originally had more than 1400?

Also what if I activate something like spellbinding circle or something that would reduce attack on a monster that is being summoned, would they get destroyed or would it not apply?

Burden and Wanghu is a devilish combo because it works.
As for Circle, I doubt it.

I was thinking since bunny said it does start a chain... Does king start a chain Everytime a monster is summoned to check if it can destroy it? If so... Then wouldn't I be able to chain spell binding to king's effect? Then chain resolves backwards binding decreases then king kills right? Or I migh just be wrong about how chains work ._.

Not sure what you mean about it Luz? according to your post in Slifer The Sky Dragon topic I believe you're asking do they Stack? If that than the answer is: No they don't.

Well I was wondering if slifer would reduce the attack by 2000 then tiger would destroy after that if they had less that 1400 after slifer's effect... But it's ok if it doesn't, got enough ideas out of this thread already... You can go ahead and mark it as solved.

Actually that would work, first all the atk/def changers are applied than Tiger King activates so Slifer + Thunder King will work.

So then it would work? Cause on the slifer thread they said it didn't... ._. slifer reduces attack by 2000 king would destroy if 1400- afterwards?

As the Wiki words it, Slifer currently starts a chain so it doesn't work. The reason it doesn't is because Wanghu looks at the monsters attack after the successful summon but before anything else activates, then either destroys it or lets it through. Cards that would start a chain alter the attack AFTER Wanghu looks at the attack, whereas continuous effects alter the attack immediately when it hits the field before Whanghu checks it.

Funny I always thought it said mirror b as well... So as long as it's a continous effect that doesn't start a chain Wanghu will activate after it... Got it...
