Solved Judgment dragon vs book of moon...

Post  plsgiveme500k 2012-01-03, 07:57

Well, i was watching a duel, and because JD errata is changed (http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Judgment_Dragon)
everything goes like this...

Player1 active judgment effect.
Player2 chain book of moon to JD effect.

Will JD effect can't resolve or JD will nuke itself as well?

P.S. This ruling take 2 admin much time to thinking, but answer is till not clear, lol

Judgment dragon vs book of moon... 300px-JudgmentDragonLCGX-EN-C-1E

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by having 4 or more "Lightsworn" monsters with different names in your Graveyard, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can pay 1000 Life Points; destroy all other cards on the field. During each of your End Phases: Send the top 4 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard. You must control this face-up card to activate and to resolve this effect.

I am guessing the effect is aborted
(but.. remember cost that has been paid never got refund)

BoM can't stop JD's effect from resolving. and even if it is face-down, it will not be destroyed by its own effect.

plsgiveme500k, could you mind explaining where the debate was about?
The card text seems pretty clear to me.

What's so hard to understand? ''All other cards'' means every once card on the field but the card that activated this effect.
Agree with BwRa and Ultimate lol.

Well, the keyword, "this effect", is trying state JD which effect? I just confusing about this keyword.

Ok, I get it now, perhaps I think too much of the keyword, "this effect"

It's actually just Engish Grammer.
"This" pretty much should refer to the last mentioned thing before it. "This effect" should mean the last mentioned effect before that sentence. If it wanted that restriction on both effects it would say "These"

Uhm sorry but did anyone even bother reading the JD Errata here? Card needs to be face-up to resolve, same way Zombie Master needs to be face-up to resolve. So Book of moon or BTH can stop it from now on.

Sucks doesn't it...

No, it needs to be face-up to resolve the mill effect. I even pointed out why that's so.

JD's effect will still go off since it was already activated in the Chain. Book of Moon will just flip him facedown first. You can't save your cards from getting blown up but you will save yourself from losing 3000 points.
