Hmm, I don't suppose I've ever posted here, but there's a first thing for everything. Now, I was greatly appalled by how Konami acted. This just shows that all they crave for is more money. They don't care if the customers are satisfied or not.
As to why Dueling Network was taken down, it was because Konami was jealous. Simply, it was a worthy rival which made its own online games look like bull crap (mind my French), to a degree that they had to come up with just some odd cock-and-bull story to take it down. Dueling Network is a fan-game that is not affiliated with Konami.
Why weren't other dueling systems taken down? Because they weren't competitive enough. DMG was very laggish, and so was KCVDS on many occasions. DN, however, changed it all.
Why do we need DN? Because we don't have anything else to connect us to the Yu-Gi-Oh! world back here, and in a few other countries as well. All I have is Tag Force, which I had to download form the internet to get. There are no official cards back here, or tournaments. Any cards sold here whatsoever are all fake and modified cards just to keep Konami off their backs.
Online dueling systems gave us all a chance to see the Dueling World as it really is. Honestly, I doubt I would have went far into YGO if it weren't for KCVDS or DN. It even encouraged me to buy cards the only time I actually went abroad to the US. Many of us have become interested in the game because we got the chance to witness it completely.
So yeah, I guess that sums up everything I have to say. Don't latch onto me if I did mention something which was already said before since I never really read the whole topic. By the way.

Its not DMG. I can tell you now that UD doesn't care about DN. He doesn't care if his player base is small. Most people on DMG are there to chat with friends rather then dueling. Trust me I talk to UD daily, he doesn't give to shits about DN.

Glad I deicded to check it out, loads of fun. Though honestly I have spent way more time in the deck builder than anything else :p

You're jumping to conclusions much too fast.
To put it simply, DN was taken down due to certain copyright infringements within it (and i'm not talking about card images). Once those are fixed konami (asumming they actually filed the DMCA) will allow us to put the site back up.

Konami is not some soulless company that only exists to absorb the souls of the innocent...
