You have to look at it from Konami's perspective. DN is making them lose money because they have their own Duel Simulator which costs money to buy things in. DN is just a very popular simulator and the bigger the site the more of a threat it is. Just like One Manga or anything like that. Though if the owners of the site really wanted to be sneaky they could easily buy a server in a country that has no copyright laws. It's not that DN is making or isn't making money it's that either way it's losing Konami money. If DN was making money there probably would already be a class action lawsuit against the owners. I just want it back for a little while so I can write down everything in my decks.

DMG is Duel Monsters Genesis. It is a Byond game that is based on the Yugioh world. It has every card from the ACG, TCG, and OCG. You can duel other people anything. Once you figure out how to use the game itself it becomes a rather simple system to duel on.

That's very true, but large companies don't normally think like that. If they wanted it free they'd give it out free.

Think of it this way. On DN, we get access to all the cards. We get to test ANY deck we can dream up. AND AGAINST GOOD PLAYERS... The ability to do this is just money in Konami's pocket in the long run because after we test the decks we want to play, it makes us want to go out and buy/trade for the cards we need to build said deck. Then we take the same deck from our DN accounts, play them in tournaments, PAY KONAMI'S FEES TO PLAY, so on and so forth.

In my opinion, Konami should make DN the OFFICIAL YUGIOH ONLINE DUELING PLATFORM and kill off Yu-Gi-Oh Onliine and the Duelpass System.

This is terrible. I rarely EVER have money to buy booster packs, or starter decks, and I only have a few random cards of a few archetypes with very few synchros/fusions, so my decks suck. DN was the only place where I could use cards I have never even heard of or get my hands on to use in real life. Summer and school breaks is also a bore, because my real-life opponent, who's also my best friend is the ONLY person I can duel and any break from school interferes with that. Tried dueling on Quizilla via Private Messages and that was HORRIBLE.

So I hope this site can come back up. Best of luck to you, BLS and thanks for all the fun times and hopefully more to come. I hope this can be resolved quickly and peacefully. Wink

It really stinks that DN has to be under scrutiny by Konami over "nothing", practically. Having not touched a Yu-Gi-Oh deck in roughly six years, it was nice being able to dive back into the game without having to go through the trouble of unlocking cards, or having to undergo something unnecessary to use a semi-decent deck. DN gave me a lot of ideas to apply to my real-life deck, too...

Well, anyway. Hopefully a compromise can be made, 'cause it'd be really sad to see DN be subjected to a full-on shut down.

I myself hope you incorporated as an LLC, but it's just a hope at this point... Losing DN would suck, but save yourself man don't take a fall for us if it comes to that. Nobody wants to see you hurt because of this.

I was never personally contacted about the DCMA by Konami. For all I know it was a false DCMA provided by an imposter who fooled the server provider. I am trying to get to the bottom of this, do not make any assumptions or take any rash actions.

Konami is not trying to take down our site because it's popular or because they want people to play yugioh online. Quite simply, it's because of a few issues within the site and once those are all resolved then we'll hopefully be back online.

Please, don't spam konami, don't boycott the game, and for the love of god don't do anything drastic like drinking a bottle of antifreeze or something... It is really not as grim as you think.

Edit: and yes, like BLS said, it may be a false DMCA.

These summarize the good that this site has brung... Hopefully more will voice their positive emotions and what Duel Network has done for the game rather than bad mouth konami... that would probably do better to convince them as well.
