Rulings : Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning

So...

1) How many times a BLS can attack in one turn

2) Can you special summoned Dark Armed Dragon that has been properly summoned ? My opp claimed I cann't reborn BLS-EotB since it has similarlity with DaD according his/her rulings



And why BLS-EotB can be reborned, while DaD is not... question from my opp

Also yeah, you can activate BLS's effect once per turn so, he can attack once normally but if he destroys something he can attack again. If you destroy something after that then twice is his last time.

(Means BLS-EotB wont do Quadruple attack)

Black Luster Soldier says "can only be special summoned by" which means that after it has been properly summoned and later sent to the grave, you can revive it. This type of Monster is called a semi-nomi monster.

The other type is nomi which says "cannot be special summoned except by". This type of monster cannot be revived from the graveyard through any effect. Dark Armed Dragon is a nomi monster. It's current text is an errata from its original text which used to say:

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by having exactly 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. You can remove from play 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard to destroy 1 card on the field.

This kind of card text for Semi-Nomi monster is the old kind. If BLS's card text is gonna be fixed, it should be like this: "Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from the hand)..."

Well...Like Blseotb says, It can Attack Once again in a row. So Im guessing two ties is the limit.

As for the special summon only. If it was summoned Properly the first time and wasnt Negated by Warining, Judgement, Horn Or any card of that sort.

You can Special summon him from the grave by Monster reborn, Call of the haunted, Etc. Because he was properly Summoned. As for D.A.D
He Just cant Be Special Summoned from the grave, Just from the hand.

That text may hold for newer cards and reprints. But this text still holds for old semi-nomi monsters like BLS until they get reprinted.

My opp claim he can attack after he use his banish effect, but I negate it with effect veiler

The answer is no, the effect has already been activated, it just resolves without effect because the effect is negated. So BLS cannot attack.
