Solved A bunch of ruling questions

Post  tester12342 2011-10-19, 10:32

So I've got a bunch of ruling questions and just decided to stick them all in one thread.

1. Honest vs Honest - I was under the impression that the last one to activate Honest would win the battle but a friend told me that the chain would resolve backwards.

2. Vampire Lord effect - What happens if the opponent has no/runs out of the declared type on his deck to mill? Can the controller of Vampire Lord declare a new type or will the effect just fizzle out?

3. Destiny HERO Diamond Dude - What happens if Diamond Dude mills a spell that stays on the field like Swords of Revealing Light?

4. The Sacred Hyades - Will flip effects activate if The Sacred Hyades uses his effect?

5. Eradicator Epidemic Virus - If the opponent activated Virus and declared Spell Cards and I draw a quick-play spell card on my next turn, I should be able to use the quick-play right?

1. The very fisrt person activating Honest will win. Chain resolving backwards, the last Honest to be activated increases the ATK, then the first Honest will add that attack to the monster.

2. The effect disappears, but you get to look at the opponent's deck to verify that.

3. Only the part of the effect that works when the card is activated will work. So a milled Swords will only flip the monsters, but won't stop the attacks.

4. Yes, they will activate.

5. The effect of Eradicator Epidemic Virus does not start a chain when it activates after a draw. So you cannot activate a Quick-Play Spell card if it's drawn and destroyed by EEV.

About Honest vs. Honest:

If the 1st Honest is actived before damage calculation, the 2nd Honest can active after, during damage calculation and win.

If the 1st Honest is actived during damage calculation, the 2nd Honest can only chain to 1st Honest and lose.

Yeah, my bad not saying that, I just expected a standard Honest vs Honest chain in damage calculation Very Happy

Thanks a lot. One final question though. Let's say my opponent has Stardust Dragon on the field and I have Grapha, Snoww, Silva and Card Destruction in my hand. Is it possible to arrange the chain in a way that Stardust Dragon will miss timing on Grapha's destruction effect?

Yes. SEGOC is one of the most useful ways to stop Stardust and its evolutions.

How would the chain look like? Is it CL1: Snoww, CL2: Silva, CL3: Grapha or the other way around?

when you discard more than 1 DW at a time with card destruction or morphing jar, you can choose the order to resolve their effects.

I know that. I'm asking what order does it need to be for Stardust Dragon's effect to miss timing.

Actually since all 3 monsters have mandatory effects you can organize them anyway you like. If your trying to kill Stardust Dragon with Grapha, by making it CL 1 or 2, your opponent cannot tribute Stardust to negate it because it is not the last link in the chain.
