Cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck. If you control no monsters: You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. This card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. You take no Battle Damage from battles involving this face-up Attack Position card. At the end of the Battle Phase in which this card battled: Return all other monsters on the field to the hand(s), then inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each monster returned. During your Standby Phase: Shuffle this face-up card into the Deck.
Will my opponent still burn in Metaion's trollish flame if it bounces an Extra Deck monster/Monsters deemed to be RFGed (PSZ, Birdman, stuff)?
I'm leaning towards "No" because the returned monster is not returned to hand, but I might be wrong

Re: Temporal Machine God Metaion [Ruling]
To my knowledge returning to the hand is a mere statement the card has to go where it came from. Just like compulsory does not care if it goes the hand or not. Besides that point, the effect only states that the cards have to be returned to the hand, like compulsory. The second part only mentions the amount of returned cards. It does not specify the hand again. This makes me believe the return to the hand part is like compulsory and that the burn returned part does not care about where they went. Thus doing burn damage for all of them.
The only thing I would have big doubts about is tokens.

Re: Temporal Machine God Metaion [Ruling]
They have to returned to the hand in order to get damage inflicted
So extra deck monsters and tokens or Plaguespread that was summoned by its own effect does not contribute

They should really add returned "to the hand" to the second line to then. That would clear all confusions.

OCG ruling currently says as long as it's returned, damage is inflicted, that leaves the monsters such as Plaguespreader out

That part I get. But a Syncro is stil "returned" just not to the hand but to the extra deck.

I guess you just need to return it somehow, it can possibly be revised
And Potus, why spam?

I gave the answer based on the OCG so far, and you just gave a redundant post not to mention a vague answer.
「戻した枚数」を参照するが、「 手札 に戻した」のみの指定ではないため、 エクストラデッキ に戻ったものもカウントされる。
Crudely translated,
In proper English,
"for each monster returned" refers to "returned to hand" only. Because it is not specified, monsters returned to the Extra deck will also counted. But cards that will not be returned to hand, such as Tokens, or will be removed, such as "Battle Fader" or "Quilbolt Hedgehog" are not counted.
Is that right?
Crudely translated,
"Back number" is to refer to " hand back to "only because it is not specified, extra deck also returned to be counted.
But back to disappear without treatment token , and its effect on the special summons was "Battle Fader" · "Bolt Hedgehog" , etc. are not counted. (11/02/21)
