Meklord Emperor Granel: Is "LP always continuously checked"?

Do we have to check every turn LP to see the current attack of Merklord Emperor Granel?

Granel's ATK and DEF gain based off half of your LP is a continuous effect.

Yes the attack gain is a continuous effect. You don't check the LP every turn you check them at all time. Such as in cases:

You have 8000 LP, Granel(4000 ATK) and Tengu
Opponent has Rai Oh

He attacks your Tengu with Rai Oh
Your LP go to 7800 and Granel goes to 3900 ATK.
