Re: Swords Of Revealing Light
exodia and final count down were good cards when first released. the only reason they suck now is because better cards with better effects and faster deck speeds came out.
it is 100% konamis fault, but dont blame the low tier decks/cards, blame the high tier decks/cards. decks like fabled OTKs which lets u synchro summon like mad in 1 turn then OTK ON TOP of drawing 3-4 cards is stupidly powerful. decks like agents where you can summon venus, get 3 balls on the field, a xyz on the field, krystya set up and hyperion set up all in one turn is stupid. you essentially have a 2.8k beater, a 2.7k beater + nuker, and a xyz monster like gachi or levi on the field just in one turn. oh and guess what? ur opponent cant special summon cuz of krystya effect so he has to pray and go balls to the wall in trying to get a dark hole.
these cards/decks is what made old good cards go from high tier to low tier over the years. its gotten to a point where old broken cards that have been baned for YEARS are taken off the banlist.
but that is fault of game design. in my honest opinion the ruling on special summons should be changed to where you are limited to the amount of times u can special summon in one turn, but i think im getting off topic so ima stop.

Harper7000 wrote:It's also worth noting that it isn't just "I've lost to that card. Ban it!". The banlist isn't a preference list, I'll give you that. But creating cards like exodia and final countdown was a dumb idea on konami's part. Even making so many burn cards. If it wasn't for such decks, I wouldn't give a crap about Swords. They can stall all they want, but there's no point. But they do exist, and I don't see why Konami insists on continuing to support such pointless decks. Like One Day of Peace. WTF was that? Stalling decks is all it will EVER be used in. "Dur, I'm going to minus myself and prevent myself from doing any damage whatsoever this turn just for the sake of drawing a card." Am I Mac because Exodia is viable now? Hell no it's not viable. But I get really tired of dueling it in rated. There's literaly no point in dueling them. I either win entirely by luck, or I lose entirely by being unlucky. And it takes 10 times as long to kick their *** because they stall so dang much. See what I'm saying? Why let that happen when they can prevent it?
Its pretty hard to disagree with that statement. im just glad i havent ran into too many exodia users lately or final or any kind of boring burn. its funny when they don't realize why people don't like playing those decks and swords just makes it worse but at least it doesn't see that much play but it all depends on what they do with the backrow hate this format.

A.really underestimated and amazing card. Loved it ever Since I was 5. NO one wants to waste there mst/ heavy on storm so it lets you build up your ground in not so great situations. Swords has never really back fired on me. I run swords in 35 percent of the decks I run to create stall and generate more advantage. I can't wait till it goes to 3..if it ever does :3.

Except your opponent can use those three turns to their advantage as well. And depending on when you drop Swords of Revealing Light you're just trying to find an out to an inevitable lose.
Also Final Countdown is slow.

meh, 20 turns can be a long wait but if you are running the right cards(piper fader,z ero guardna) they can go by quite fast as your opponent scrambles for ways for quick wins.HarleyThomas wrote:sagax06 wrote:A.really underestimated and amazing card. EDIT:And then there comes a time when a person actually knows when to play swords....

has everyone forgotten rock bounce decks? swords at 3 are AMAZING in this deck. bounce all cards on field for field advantage, atk directly with megarock or something and ur opponent cant do shit about it unless he has heavy storm or something.
swords is NOT just a stall card, it can be used to easy go on the offensive in decks like rock bounces because it only prevents ur opponent from atking while ur free to atk as much as u want. its a amazing underestimated card IF used right. any deck that focuses on field control should love this card.
