Cross Counter 300px-CrossCounterDR3-EN-R-UE

If the DEF of an attacked Defense Position monster is higher than the ATK of your opponent's attacking monster, the Battle Damage inflicted to your opponent is doubled. Destroy the attacking monster after damage calculation.

I guess it could be useful in a Rock deck. *shrug*

Besides that bit of information, I really love the card's artwork. A tiny Des Kangaroo (1500 ATK/1700 DEF) PWNing a Behemoth the King of all Animals. (2700 ATK/1500 DEF). Doesn't make much sense, except for the fact that Des Kangaroo has the effect of destroying any attacking monster with an ATK lower than its DEF. Behemoth would still own the little critter, even if it's summoned with just 2000 ATK.

I know most of you wouldn't main or even side this card, but I think it's effect by itself is okay.

Discuss.

So... its

If you monster Def > attacking monster
They take damage, and got destroyed after damage calcualtion done

so for example,
a facedown E-Hero Woodsman (2000 def) got attacked by neos alius (1900)
after they battle, flipped, and alius taking damage -100, it destroyed

But then again... bahamot attack is higher than des kangoroo def... it doens't make sense

Your opponent won't have any dignity after activation.

nakata got it right, kan. The damage would be doubled.

I understand why Kangaroo is in the art, I just don't get why something stronger than him is pictured getting pwn'd.

Either way, Behemoth the King of All Animals is still getting...

Well, true.

Anyway, if you look at the picture closely, you can see that Behemoth clearly tried to punch Des Kangaroo. A cross counter is a punch that is used to counter an opponent's punch in boxing, right?

I guess that explains further why Behemoth is getting a fist sandwich despite the ATK/DEF difference. Kangaroo is the only one here who is familiar with boxing xD

I saw Rocky 1~6 it makes me familiar with boxing? Smile

Behemoth the King of All Animals is the beast-type monster with more atk power on yugioh?

I think the only Beast type that beats him is Master of Oz in terms of ATK power. Behemoth can be summoned with 1 tribute, and weakens him in the process. However, even with 2000 ATK it's still enough to crush Des Kangaroo.

What happened is probably this, they planned on doubling def, but it didn't go through when they realized it would be too broken with Stone Statue of the Aztecs.

Wait, if you combine this card with stone statue of the aztect and canyon; would the damage be, say if sangan attacked be:

-1000 X 2 X 2 X 2 = -8000
or
-1000 X 4 = -4000

I got with the second one, as the first one would be too broken and the second one has more reason to support it?

If it was cont. trap it would be broken
But aa a normal trap, with 3 MSTs, Heavy Storms, Lyla, ryko, Caius, Stardusts, Breaker, and anything broken

Even this trap has abilty to double defense, its still not like getting more play

I think Cross Counter is popular refference to old manga "Ashita no Joe", the protagonist often use "Cross Counter" as his signature move
